It would be so us to lose to Sheff Utd and beat City.

Yeah, I was thinking that will be my modus operandi when we lose on Saturday :bandit:

It will be the only thing that will get me through the week.

That and the unwavering support from many of my friends i made on here today <yikes>

I'll watch us against City and see positives whatever the outcome but sheffield will not roll over for us and I don't think I'll be able to watch us struggle against them. Think I'll just check the score when its all over and watch on demand if we win.

Nope, no good. You don't get the 2-3 days of post game depression and irritability with that.

Yes, I broke my taboo of not watching Saints as it seemed a sure way of them losing. Stupid rationale but there you are. Will watch Sheffield game and probably go through the emotions once again like the Everton game. On balance it seemed a better experience than I imagined in that being in the moment is probably less stressful than looking for the result at the end of the game.

I've tried several times to watch a game, but have to switch off every time we are in danger...like when the match kicks off.

Me in goal ..... now THAT would be a disaster ..... the last time I did that (about 35 years ago) I took a back pass from the centre-half, let it go through my legs and just stopped it going in by scooping it round the post for a corner. I was upset at the abuse I got from the team ........ :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Playing in goal brought me my most memorable memory as a schoolboy.
The pitch was a mud patch, it was raining and the gym teacher was breaking through in the inside left position when he pushed the ball too far ahead of himself.
I came flying out, went down on my side, slid about 3 yards, gathered the ball and took the teacher out. He went flying.
I was surprised he didn’t give himself a penalty.

As a footnote I wasn’t generally a goalkeeper but no one ever volunteered for it so I was happy to give it a go.
If Ralph is interested I played midfield or right back.
