I think the performance today was on the button. Against a very talented side we targeted their weaknesses and countered their strengths. I won’t give credit to OGS who has been a bystander. He can **** off
Winning this doesn't erase the previous four games, sorry. We've blown it with a negative mindset. It was a great performance, why can't they play like that against Sheffield United, West Brom and Crystal Palace? Oh yeah, that's just the players being complacent. Forgot that, they coach and inspire themselves.
Titles are won on consistencies. That’s what’s missing with this team. The manager must find a way to ensure complacency and apathy have no place in the team. The talent is abundantly there as I’ve always maintained. The manager must do better managing the talents and holding them fully accountable every time they step unto the pitch.
Absolutely right. The players decide their own tactics when we win. When we lose it’s the coaching. As I said I won’t credit the manager.
Im too happy to fight with own fellow fans. Great day for me. Made my weekend and the RS lost 6 in a row at their fortress haha Near perfect performance .
Where Ole has made massive errors this season is the continued narrative that 'we're not there yet or 'we won't get carried away'. Why not? Why not think you can win the league when you're actually top of it? Since all that bollocks we lost at home to Sheffield United and fell off a cliff, everyone buys into the idea that were not quite good enough, including you clearly. We've just shown we are though. We literally blew the league, and it was all our own making. You can continue to pretend the management aren't culpable as much as you want, I know they are. Next season, that **** needs to stop.
Of course you are right. The manager had absolutely nothing to do with this massive victory. As he is a bystander he can **** off. you can lambast him as much as you like. I am too happy to argue with you
I've not idea what they **** you're taking about to be absolutely honest and, just so you know, this isn't an argument mate.
great tactical victory over a talented side. Deserved victory. Let’s all celebrate together. (sure we will enough draws in the future to continue the squabbling).
Even more remarkable win when you consider that Ole has revealed that both Shaw and Martial were considered doubtful to start. Late fitness calls for both of them.
Isn't it strange, we lose like sheep in mid week and the thread is alive with discussion - on both sides yet here we are today, after a magnificent win against the dominant PL leaders, a win in some style it has to be said too - and everyone loses interest. Telling that.
Do you think it possible that some wished that we were beaten so that they could be proved right? Not possible I say Fans will always want us to win.
I was very impressed with the defensive discipline. The midfielders did their job too and the front line with Martial was always dangerous on the counter. The strange thing is that at no stage did I think we would lose once we scored. United looked more likely to score than them. Whilst they were trying hard to score City were always weary of the fast counter so that they couldn’t push too far in front.
You didn’t have the much faith to predict a win though, did you? The win is not shocking to me as I started in the previous thread. It is when we play like pissants that I find the results more shocking because this team should be doing far better. The manager must instil sense of belonging to the very top into the team and stop suggesting/insinuating that we are not ready. Be resourceful! Motivate the team to find reasons to fight to win and nothing else and we won’t be so far from the top.
We are almost there, we can't yet mount a sustained challenge for the PL title but we're not far off. Three top players added to that squad will make all the difference and then we can have a sensible debate about them performing well/underperforming etc etc. For now, for this group of players to be fighting for second is a decent result - not the result that any true fan wants, but on a progressive scale it shows incremental progress. It took SAF years to mould a side to his way of playing, I know things are completely different today, but we can't keep hammering the boss when the players have an off day. Out of interest, I've been on the City board to see how they react towards their manager on a bad day at the office................ interesting comparison alert.
I agree! Daniel James was deployed perfectly today too for those fast breaks. Keep Henderson in the starting line up. He appears to be more in control of the defensive line.
