Not wishing to be pedantic but Pavlov's dogs salivated on hearing a bell I don't recall anything about his dogs twitching..
Probably worth it if it gets Kenny sacked. While we've had some good patches over the last however many years, we've been consistently inconsistent and that doesn't look like changing. We've given him a fair crack, it's time for someone else.
So, the Skates lost at home to promotion rivals and club they hate not quite nearly as much as us... Oh dear, how sad, nefour mind..
Maybe it's just from the outside looking in but I don't really see why Pompey fans are hating him so much. They are one of a handful of bigger players in League 1, but it's not like they have bought in the level of quality that we bought in when we were down there. Kenny Jacket has got them to the playoffs the past two seasons, and is likely to get them there once more this season despite their poor form atm. He has won them the EFL trophy once, and maybe a second time as they still have to play the final from last season. They have no devine right to finish in the auto promotion places just because they are one of the bigger fish in the league. And its not like they have an amazing squad for league 1 and Jacket is the only thing holding them back. So why do they hate him so much? Seems like he is doing a good job to me, or at the very least a decent job.
Everything is relative. If you compare his récord with others who have managed that club down the years, then you would say he was successful. However, if we compare Pompey with other League 1 clubs, then they appear to be underperforming given the attendances, income and ability to attract better players. What aggravates many PFC fans is the style of football. I would also like to comment about comparing the Quality of Southampton's then squad with Pompey's present oñe. SFC had five PL.quality players, PFC maybe 4 or 5 who would be OK Championship. Pompey fans will have to wait to see what unfolds going into the last two months of the season.
