Bayern Munich Borussia Dortmund Chelsea Liverpool Manchester City Paris St Germain Porto Real Madrid It's going to be one of these Teams that lift the trophy this year. Favourites for the final have to be Man City or Bayern, if they should meet in the quarters or semi's then it could be any of these team bar us and maybe Porto will fancy their chances of getting to the final. After tonight I just think we do not have the scoring prowess and guile to topple the best teams. Too many missed chances and bad decisions in the final third will catch up with us. Atletico were almost afraid of attacking us with any intent tonight and in the reverse fixture so I think there will be far stronger opposition ahead (West Brom in the league included). Have to take my hat off to Ruudi, to come through a bad spell and stay to cement his place and play really well of late indeed all of our defence has stepped up. Kova and Kante were superb tonight but if there is a blot on his exam paper Kante's passing was a little rusty, Ziyech put a bit of gloss on an average performance, Havertz also to wasteful and Werner trying his best but ultimately not good enough (one lucky pass for the goal does not qualify for a good game). Long lay off now so Thomas the Crank can instil some of his attacking ideas into the squad. Loved the way Silva, Mount and Jorginho celebrated together in the stands when Emerson got the second goal, reminded me of how us fans used to do it before the lockdown. Happy days for now Blues.
Well that was a surprise. Possibly the best draw we could ever have hoped for, all we need to do is beat Porto then, the current 9th best team in England or the second best in Spain, and don't forget we just beat Spain's No1. Many a true word armchairblue.............Who knows indeed.. 2012 may be groundhog day for us.
