Not all of the vulnerable have had their first jab yet either. Added to that, I've heard anecdotal evidence that some of the most severely ill people now are in the younger age brackets. And then there is Chris Whitty's warning that if we do have a third wave here, the virus will find the unvaccinated. We shouldn't let our guard down for a second until the entire population is vaccinated. Or the R rate is 0 or lower.
I have to say, I really enjoyed this game. There's a real hard streak in this team that I admire. I'd love to be playing free flowing attacking football but I've had enough of the league ... ... more of this please.
3 points is more important than the performance. I'd take a defeat and a win against Posh and Hull rather than 2 draws. Get the points in the bank and look forward to derby days next season.
My view, rightly or wrongly is that the only way we are going to get out of this is through vaccination, therefore I would like to think everyone would have it. I understand that not everyone sees it that way but frustrates me when I read some of the reasons people give not to have it, which are the ones I refer to. It appears that you do not like taking any medication, which is your prerogative, whereas I take what I am advised to by the experts (as I have done since my heart attack 7 years ago, which I believe has given me this extra time). I do drive a diesel car, which I have had for over 10 years and I would love to change it for a more beneficial to the climate but can't afford it - could you please help With regards to the last comment, I don't do social media at all, too confusing for me at nearly 66, I will leave that to you younger/cleverer ones. Being on this site and occasionally on the "other side" is more than enough for me.
I agree and that is why I would like everyone to have the vaccines, if they can. We can then back to some sort of normality, even if it means still wearing a mask etc in certain situations.
Is that because they haven't took up the request to book/attend because I thought that everyone had been contacted? Not good if that is not the case.
Well, its to do with a change in who they classify as vulnerable. So maybe its not quite accurate to say that not all the vulnerable have had their first jab. My Mrs was told to shield at the very beginning and then the criteria changed. But she's a teacher too and they're really exposed to it all. Either way, I think everyone needs to be very careful still.
Ah, yeah, they have changed the classifications on the vulnerable. One of my daughter in laws is a Nursery school teacher, which was open even when the schools were closed. She had parents bringing in the bairns even though they had older one's at home! As you say, we all need to be careful.
Sorry to be pedantic, but the schools didn't close at all. They were all open to key worker and vulnerable children at the same time as delivering remote learning. How effective the remote learning was (particularly in the first lockdown) is up for debate, but in no way were schools actually closed.
Sorry, schools closed was probably the wrong phrase. I know they were open to key workers because my grandchildren still went to school. What I meant was that they stopped classes unless they were children of key workers. The last point I was making was that they were sending their little one to nursery, as if they were key workers but keeping older ones off from the primary classes!!!
Your next post is hoping to get back to normality mate . What is normality ? Do you think it is fair that Asda or tesco could sell none essential items before none essential shops could open ? Do you agree with brothel's and the houses of parliament bar being open whilst we get shìt thrown at us ? Did you agree with Dominic Cummings doing what the fook he liked then coming out with bullshìt that was lapped up by sheep same as other mp's excuses . Your 66. I'm 54 Friday. Do you like how we get treated nowadays ? I don't do Facebook or Twitter. And I certainly don't do this modern society knows it all bullshìt. If you want the vaccine, fine. I don't and I have that choice.
What an absolute joke Took over a club out of the relegation zone, took them into it ... ... and now it's the previous manager's fault. Sportsmail understands legal action is being considered and lawyers have been contacted after Barton accused the pair of negligence and labelled their training sessions a 'farce'.
Meanwhile in the Mail today ... ... oh dear "The red & white side of the North east don't like me" Said Barton. "But deep down there is a side to them that secretly does and they'd want me to manage them. They just can't say it out loud because they know I'd reject them."
Isn't that because he's a complete head case and shouldn't really be anywhere near a football club never mind being a manager.
Normality for me is being able to see my family and hug them and give my young grandkids a big kiss. I also want to go the match, racing, cricket, cinema, restaurants etc, even if I have to still wear a mask etc. With regards to your questions, it is a NO to all of them. I said from the outset that Asda etc being able to sell clothes was morally wrong whilst a little independent shop couldn't. The least said about Cummings the better. Happy birthday for Friday (you are still young compared to me )
Well apparently I'm no where near due a vaccine but as I say I keep a distance and wear a mask out of respect for others. Something I see a lot don't do whilst out and about. Especially somewhere I have to attend regularly each week where hypocrisy is rife but I don't talk about it I may take the vaccine when due, again out of respect or forced, but at the moment I'd be quite happy to live out of the way up a mountain from all the whingey snowflakes That's not a dig btw. You come across as a decent bloke
