    Newcastle was named Best Place in the World to Visit by Rough Guides in 2018. Quite an achievement for a "piss pot of a city".

    Come on mate newcastle is no even one of the best places in England never mind the world

    I'm being realistic here. Its just not and that's why people like to fly elsewhere

    Well it's kinda... not that bad really is it?

    Ok so it can be a bit chavvy and full of stupid bits of hen dos, but it's a friendly place with great pubs, some good sights to see and a fun place to visit.

    Obviously you don't go on holiday to Newcastle in the same way you go on holiday to Spain, but if you compare it to places like Slough, Milton Keynes, Huddersfield, Sunderland etc, then Newcastle is a ****ing metropolis.

    My sister in law lives in Sheffield. Went down there for the wedding. Place was a ****hole. Apart from one half decent street, the rest was a total hotchpotch of brutalist and 70's architecture. Suppose you could blame the Germans for that like, but still.........

    Havnt exactly been to loads of cities, but the ones I have been to, Newcastle city centre puts most of them to shame.
