After a breath for the international games where (arguably our best player) Buendia has a bit of a rest the championship season gets going once again at a frenetic pace. Six games in April including this one and another two in May to finish before the summer. Form: Preston LLLDL Norwich DWWWW The clubs have played each other 55 times with the first game being a 2-0 home win for the Canaries in 1961. In total Norwich have won 21 and drawn and lost 17 times. The most recent game was in September which ended in a 2-2 draw. Norwich have one player who played for Preston in the form of Jordan Hugill and Preston have two former Canaries in Diss born Declan Rudd and the Welshman Ched Evans who was on loan. Most of the Canary first team has been away on international duty for one country or another and hopefully no further injuries or the dreaded virus brought back with them. We currently have injuries to Gibson and Zimmerman (can't be a Norwich season without a CB crisis at one time or another) plus Rupp, Idah, Mcgovern and Byram all still injured. The Lilywhites also have Bauer out with injury, but appear to have less injuries than Norwich. With fewer international call ups and the sacking of Alex Neil I'm sure Preston will want to prove a point and with Norwich having many defensive injuries it is sure to be an interesting game. Here's the FA Cup match from January 2020, Idah scoring a hat trick:
Zogean, I don't know how you have the gall to launch another matchday thread when you have such a terrible record. You didn't win the last game! Count yourself lucky we're not Watford, or you'd be picking up your P45.
Reported that Zimbo is out for 4-6 weeks. Time for Tetts to step up and let’s hope and pray that Phil can remain fit. What an arse of a situation for us to find ourselves in.
Bad news for Zimmers and the team. All others who returned from International duty are fit and Covid clear.
It will be a bit annoying if our form slips now, but a great opportunity for Omobamidele, as I think we will be fine. Rotten luck for Zimmo - his one chance to win his spot back and he goes and gets injured.
Not everyone has returned from international duty yet though. Krul is back, but don't think Aarons, Skipp, Cantwell are back yet for example.
Will be interesting to see if it's Tettey, Sorensen or Omobamidele who gets the nod at CB. I don't know a lot about the youngster, but in terms of playing style I think Sorensen would be able to offer a greater range of passing than Tettey.
Yep - I Iike Jacob and think he’d be a better option. We have to keep Phil fit and healthy - his presence is vital to our run in.
