To be fair mate, I've long since decided that.

    He just isn't.

    De Gea, however, IS.

He just need to get some MoJo back.

If he wants to go back to Spain though, pursue Donnaruma, who very definitely is top class.

Henderson is never gonna be better than a No.2, or someone else's first choice.

I would still point to two key attributes that I seen in De Gea’s absence-

1/ I believe the defensive is better organized when Henderson is in goal. De Gea, I feel, is often too passive which puts pressure on the defenders and invites him to always save the day with his great reflex. But that’s not a position that we want to be in.

2/ Luke Shaw’s goal the other week illustrates Henderson’s quick thinking attribute which perfectly started an attack. I think we could do with more of this.

For me, I’d rather have Henderson in goal than De Gea. But Donnaruma is young, tall at 6’5” and proven, so certainly would be a golden upgrade - especially on a free transfer.

Di Maria’s house got bungled in Paris. I wonder if he’s going to start sulking about the city as he did when he was in Manchester.

Looks like he’s here to stay so here’s who’s likely to get binned.

    Lingard - £20m
    Jones - £Funeral costs
    Pereira - Another Loan
    Mata - Free
    Cavani - Free
    Rojo - Free
    Dalot - Another Loan
    Romero - Free

    Possibly De Gea/Henderson - £40m
    Possibly Donny £35m
    Possibly Pogba £50m

If that happens we need to replace Cavani, Pogba, Donny and De Gea and buy a centre half and RF

Looks like a busy summer. I’d be shocked if Pereira isn’t in our squad after the window closes looking at that, and how our Chief Exec fails at every opportunity.

We've got to keep Pogba though, surely. Him and Fernandes, with Rice behind maybe (or McTominay of corse) is a very good midfield.

Can't have him and DVDB going, although I cant really see the latter kicking on if he were to stay and Pogba leave, he looks scared by it.

Sod's law is France piss the Euro's, Pogba is brilliant, and his fat slug agent whores him all over Europe again.

Personally, and this is just in some mad ideal world, we get Sancho and Haaland from Dortmund.

Rice to replace a departing Fred, Matic and DVDB.

    Kounde from Sevilla.

Serious question here; does anyone think bringing beans back next season wouldn't be an instant huge improvement on Donny van de Beek?

This is my problem with always thinking we have to go into the transfer market to solve our problems. We pay serious money and the players end up being wasted. Lingard has shown that we are not resourceful with the squad.

We have Amad now as well who knows how to play the right. And James barely gets decent run in the squad. Why are some of us still wanting to chase after Sancho who is going to cost record fee that then heaps pressure on him to perform which they barely ever do.

With Diallo/James options on the right I don't think we need Sancho and the money would be better spent on Rice and Halland.

To be honest honest, Dan James is a way better player off the left, even though he's right footed.

If we get rid of Martial(which we should), Rashford can move inwards and he can find slot as an option on the left.

I would still go after Sancho, irrespective of Amad.

    We need a squad.

Where can you see Rashford playing if (if) we sign Haaland, personally I would keep him on the left (agree, Martial out) that leaves Diallo/James on the right - watch some of the videos of Diallo on the right, he is an amazing talent.

Exactly! We need a striker that is going to get at least a goal in two games. If we can’t get Halland, I would absolutely take Harry Kane and a get center back. With Pogba and Fernandez in midfield along McTominay, Amad/James/Greenwood on the right, Rashford/James on the left, we should be able to create enough opportunities to win more games next season.

One thing very noticeable on this thread is that we all agree on the areas that need change/strengthening.

I would keep Rashford wide left, his link with Shaw is fantastic and i am seeing Telles getting to understand/anticipate him now too.
Tell Greenwood to stay within the width of the area,
Try Diallo wide right (i say try because the lad is young and will probably need to adapt to the PL, we also have James for that position)
Get a decent game reading, right sided CB, i actually like both Lindelof and Bailly because the make great last ditch tackles/blocks. The problem is they both put them selves in a position where they need to make far too many of them.
Keep Fred, he plays very well with McT when Pogba is on an injury rest period but can't play with Matic.
Get rid of Matic, the guy is very good at what he dose, winning the ball back without having to make a tackle which is great for gaining possession. The problem comes when he has the ball, 4 or 5 touches to look around and often a driving 15/20 yard run before making a 3 yard pass he could/should have made 20 yards ago.
Get Lingard back and see if he is really over his personal problems (it looks like he is at the moment), the man is non stop and really does help pull tight defences apart.
Keep Martial but only as backup for Rashford at wide left.
Keep Cavani for as long as possible, the mans movement and desire to score is something we have lacked since Zlatan.

You will be happy to know my pixels are running low so i need to stop.

Sorry lads. don't normally post that long <laugh>

Haaland, but Kane would be more straightforward as no one else is after him.

Half of Europe wants Haaland ffs.

I think Kane would be better for us. He would be plug and play option. He would bring leadership to the team because of his experience and the move would make us the major contender overnight.

Haaland will be good because of his age. But with his agent, you just never know how that will turn out. I can also see him using United as a stepping stone to Spain as they all seem to do. And we won’t get the leadership that we need from him.

If we get Kane, we would get a stable and solid years of services without being unsettled. And he’s also English. Can’t go wrong with that.

Agree, good to have him posting, it's a loss to the board that @Tel doesn't post much on here.

On what people have posted, Fred needs to fck off. My priority is on a better holding midfielder because whilst there's a problem in our central defence and we do need a CB, it's pointless buying one without an intelligent interceptor and tackler in front of them. I'd say easily half our defensive problems don't stem from the defence but from how easily teams bypass our midfield and get to our back line with ease.

A right winger/forward would really make our attack incredible. But the problem is I'd quite like that to be Greenwood and Diallo and that would require coaching. So how about we get better coaches in instead?

Martial needs to fck off as well. Anyone watch him playing for France? He assisted a goal and was bouncing about grinning like a cheshire cat. That says it all. He clearly doesn't want to be at United the miserable **** so he should fck off.

A proper number 9 is the big one. We're not buying Haaland <laugh> not even worth suggesting. Kane's the best available and the most realistic. We'll just need to fill in during Jan and Feb every year when he's injured but I reckon we can manage. Cheer on City in the League Cup lads because if Spurs win that one, he may just stay put.
