The former Manchester Utd youth player was replaced by Marcelo Bielsa - the rest, as they say, is history! Heckingbottom replaced lifelong Blades fan Chris Wilder last month. Wilder was sacked by the South Yorkshire board, having tried to step down from the Bramall lane hot heat on a number of occasions, on the proviso that he was given a 4m settlement. Owner Prince Abdullah was less than impressed. The Blades are rooted to the bottom of the Premiership, 14 points from safety. With only 9 games left, their top flight status looks doomed. Leeds will be wanting to break the 40 point barrier this weekend, which many see as the guaranteed safety point. With Robin Koch fit again, Bielsa must decide whether to recall the German International in place of Diego Llorente who has just come back from International duty with Spain. The centre back started in Sundays win against Georgia. Tyler Roberts has shown great form in rent weeks with both Leeds and Wales. However, his International displays were undermined by a breach of rules, which saw the 22yo sent home. It remains to be seen whether Bielsa chooses to punish Roberts further. Mateusz Klich has tested positive for the Corona Virus, and will be ruled out for the next three weeks (disclosed by Poland's FA). Bielsa is likely to stick with Harrison, Roberts (or Rodrigo), Dallas and Raphinha, with Phillips in the holding role. We await news on the fitness of leading scorer Patrick Bamford! Enda Stevens, Billy Sharp, John Egan, Sander Berge, Jack O'Connell, Jack Robinson and Jack Rodwell are all ruled out for the visitors whilst Chris Basham faces a late fitness test
Horrible watching games involving Sheff Utd recently. Great chance to beat them and that would mean only two relegation spots left, especially as we have three difficult game coming up after. So three points would be nice. Morning all by the way. Off thread a bit, LUTV have just taken 10.00 pounds from my bank account for the Cardiff match from last season. WTF is going on. A waiting reply from them.
Think it will be a tough match, they’re bound to raise their game against us. In their last match they looked like they were sulking because of Wilder’s sacking but knowing how much he hates Leeds they’ll more likely up the effort. No knowing how the bloody international break affects teams either.
Last 3 games have been tight and finished 0-1 to the away team. Guess we will see if they really have dropped of the edge of a cliff or just had 'one of those seasons'. FWIW I thought they deserved something out of the first game between us this season. They probably should have beaten us given the chances they had. If they won that game they might have gone on and started to pick up points earlier.
cant see anything but a good 3-0 win, they will be rolled over royally we are just too strong for them they are down there with nothing to play for a reason , and that is they are not good enough
Got to agree. Meslier made one of the best saves I have ever seen in that game and another that wasn't far behind. Luckily, Heckinbottom has had a few weeks to get his ideas across so I am going for a 4-0 win
If Alioski is off at the end of the season I would have liked us to forget him now but with Klich out you'd have to assume Dallas will be playing in the middle. The interesting selection will be Roberts or Rodrigo, normally I'd say Bielsa would have stuck with Roberts but it all depends how Bielsa views his crime of what happened with the Wales squad
I've always liked Alioski but if he really is leaving then there really is no point in playing him again this season. Give Huggins or Davis a start at LB. This game is perfect because Sheff Utd don't have any wingers with pace. Also, Rodrigo over Roberts all day long.
Agree with Forza. We all know we need a left back. **** Alioski off and see if Davis or Huggins can come in and do it for a run of games. Could save us millions if one of them transforms u23 form in to PL. Its unlikely but give them a run of games and see what happens. Worse case scenario would be that we need to sign a LB which is kind of where we are now anyway.
Well it's derby Day tomorrow against the blunts, will sharp come back to haunt us,will £23million Scouser Brewster get his first goal, will heckingbottom rub radz's nose in the dirt with 3 points!......we are Leeds and we love a good banana skin now and then,so as long as it's not the 3 point situation I couldn't care less about the other 2
Wow I forgot what its like to play at 3pm on a Saturday. Think the Blunts will try to raise their game for the Derby but will fall flat on their sh&tholes.. Fancy Bammers for 2 or 3 tomorrow in a Yorkshire Derby Massacre.
Just my luck my shift start time has been moved to 10AM.where i was going has Amazon prime as well. Not much fun trying to watch it on your phone.
I’m guessing Cooper in for Struijk and it all depends on how serious a view Bielsa takes on Roberts being sent home from Wales otherwise I’d not expect any other changes
