Having slept in it, unfortunately, the defeat wasn’t a shock as we haven’t played well for a number of games and that was ‘masked’ to a certain extent by picking up a number of points from ‘lucky’ goals and / or (late) penalties.

If the so-called (Sky Football) pundits actually did some research and watched games, rather than use stereotype throwaway remarks about Swansea, they would realise that we don’t play attractive football (and haven’t under Cooper) and that Cooper is tactically inept at this level.

As I’ve written previously, I think he is probably a good coach of players but ‘in-game’ tactics are beyond him currently .....

    Just my thoughts <cheers>

I think that’s a fair reflection Taff. Cooper’s ‘in game’ management is not good, slow to respond to opposing team changes, obvious substitutions being delayed till they have no chance to take effect. Opposition have now worked out how to play against us and my perception is we have no real plan B. One area where we have improved is defending set piece play, we used to be awful in this area.

I watched most of the first half

I thought that he selected probably our strongest team for an away match.

What was disappointing is that the midfield 3 failed to dominate and control the game, and that neither the Manager nor the players knew how to overcome the high press which closed off our ability to play out from the back and use the wing backs to get forward.

Teams have worked out his to play us and it appears that we haven’t found a way on the training ground - or on the pitch - to get around this.

Preston will know how to play us and will undoubtedly fancy their chances - will 3 consecutive defeats become 4?

Einstein reportedly said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results ..... surely Cooper will change things for Monday ...

Lots of the usual criticisms and bitterness heading in Coopers way. He's being pilloried as being " predictable ", but what about the predictability constantly on display hereabouts ?

How many points have you armchair managers produced for the team this season, or any other season, for that matter ?

Oh, and were they gained despite you, or because of you. <laugh>

    How many ?

    That many ? <laugh>

It was a very poor performance against Brum, but nobody died, and we are STILL not Cardiff City.

I blame Michael Laudrup for setting the bar too high. <laugh>

The Einstein quote is, surely, <laugh>, equally valid when viewing the constant criticisms of Cooper. Has he changed ? Are his detractors therefore insane ?

It appears only positive opinions can be proffered . I take no pleasure but Cooper is out of his depth . The players seem to have given up on him and reading on here and other social media so have the supporters . My club is all I'm concerned about, don't worry about Cooper he'll survive all this nasty talk about his limited ability .

All we can hope for if there are any hope left of salvaging something this season is that Coopers luck returns ,because without out we can kiss any chance of promotion in any shape of form. Bowyer summed it up publicly but other managers have already sussed it out. Cardiff did a job on us which wasn't a fluke and we haven't played well since at least the Norwich game.

I don't remember much in the way of " positive opinions " being expressed hereabouts for Cooper. Criticisms, criticisms and then just for a change, more criticisms, are the order of the day.

Oh, and it's still not your club. <laugh>

“ Barnsley are unexpected challengers, and have been helped by Valérien Ismaël’s willingness to take full advantage of this season’s five permitted substitutions. He says the rule “gives you the possibility to have more impact on the game and to decide what is going on”, and no team in the Football League have made more than their 152 substitutions (equally notably, only Accrington Stanley and Lincoln have used fewer than Swansea’s 88).”
