So he’s made the most of it and loads of his mates have rallied round and supported him. three of his best mates have passed away in those 18 months and he’s still going strong!! enjoy it while you can Every day is a good day

Don't forget to take your own pen when you go to the pub in a fortnight. This is a complete waste of time... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-56608632
Look how good that figure of 204 looked, then look at the numbers now. I stopped posting the tables from there, when it looked like we were doing really bab, but even though we're listed much higher up it, and testing numbers are (I think) much higher, the numbers now are much, much lower, and improving well. please log in to view this image
Carabao Cup final, April 25. 8000 spectators will be allowed in. Covid test beforehand and another 5 days after for research purposes. Good news but I hope they chase up those 2nd tests otherwise we learn nothing.
It’s all relative (mostly to testing levels) When Leicester was locked down as the first are their level was 45/7 days/100k population. Comparing it with that our figures are still bad, but there is definitely more testing so more asymptotic cases will be found. Important bit is hospitalisations which are way down from the peak. Still worrying about Brazil variant though. Hopefully it will get found and isolated out
Re assuring if true. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...t-Brazilian-South-African-Covid-variants.html
Lasted bout 2 weeks last time before most pubs couldn't be bothered, thankfully the pub passport thing as being binned but the government do seem overly keen on imposing excessive measures, covid passports for footie springs to mind but the of course won't be ready until after people have started going back anyway, for rugby the situation is even more absurd as the new season is already under way.
Lines on graph look good (they do rather suggest we came out of lockdown a bit too early last year, but certainly make this version of lockdown look a success)
I've seen several graphs showing how areas applying different approaches, each had quite similar similar trends to each other, which seems to imply that there is something going on beyond locking down or not. I'm just glad I'm not tasked with offering solutions, and that whatever the why's and wherefores, the figures look to be heading the right way for us opening back up.

I read a thread by one of the independent SAGE scientists who said that because the Kent variant is so transmissible, it’s become the dominant variant of the virus in this country, which means other variants will struggle to find hosts to spread. They said this was a good thing considering the vaccine being useful against the Kent variant. edit - they stated that the third wave Europe is facing is very likely the variant we exported to them meaning we shouldn’t face this wave (we’ve already had it!). edit 2 - found the tweet thread: Lockdown and Kent variant dominance is stopping other types of Covid spreading.
