Rubbish, only KLD would have a clue the ball park figure he may spend, probably does not know himself yet, he will have to wait snd see depending on the circumstances
I have got the feeling he will spend 'enough' to make us successfull, and that could be rather a large sum

Disagree with you their mate I believe he’s 100% correct there is nothing in a statement telling you we are going to buy better players that’ll make you feel better.

Not for the player who thinks he’s not going to be involved it isn’t.

I don’t believe for one second that anyone but the smallest group of trusted people closest to KLD will have any clue about information that is commercially sensitive to the running of SAFC.

Everyone knows KLD is a rich man and people will use that knowledge to sell newspapers or attempt to force prices upwards, but from what he said in his statement and the people he has brought in, I think anyone expecting an easy touch will be disappointed, he is far too astute to allow anyone to take advantage of him.

Maybe the current first team squad, I say squad because it's clear the bench every week is as important as the starting 11, are of the confidence and belief they will be good enough to step up and continue this amazing journey with us? All footballers need to have that level of arrogance as far as I'm concerned.

If any of the current squad don't believe in themselves and don't think they can step up and have a part to play then they can kindly close the door on there way out. Take McFadzean for example, every man and his dog knows Hume is 1st choice and we even brought in another LB in January but who's getting the game time? He's stepped up in all fairness to him because he wants to be a part of this so he's giving himself the best chance possible of being a part of the SAFC machine next year. I'm not saying he will be either, but he's not done his chances any harm the past month or 2...

Correct, thankfully we have the right people making the decisions at a club players want to be at.

No need to bring endless negatives in regarding players who might be upset if they feel they're not good enough.

If they're not why would we want them here.

And why worry about agents thinking they can get the better of KLD and his men, pointless.

We want them here because they are the ones who are going to take us up so we shouldn’t be publishing anything ( although I think it’s s hit ) that will demoralise them they are players not robots.

We're not, you just said it yourself.

Besides, players aren't soppy little softies and, if they were, I wouldn't want them here ...

... they're paid to do a job and, if they do that job well enough, will be kept on.

    Just like all of us.

In terms of timing of the announcement - assuming KLD has sanctioned it - maybe the new Head of Recruitment said “guess we’ll need c£60m to refresh the squad (i.e. to include new contact deals with current squad) and K says “OK - I can live with that...”
    Simple really

    Aye, I’d agree with that.
People with the clout and acumen of KLD and his support network have not come here to try and get into the premier league in the next five years.
They will want us to be serious contenders next year.
Need to get over the line this year and then prepare for fireworks in the summer.

So it doesn’t help if we make players think they are getting the boot at the end of the season.

If some players feel they might get released cos they might not be good enough...then they probably aren't good enough.
It's the same at every club looking to move upwards. They should use it as an incentive to step up and make it hard for the club not to keep them on.
