Well that was all very depressing. The players with one or two exceptions seem to have lost confidence and struggle with basic skills. For example Manning on at least four occasions was in a good attacking position and hit his pass straight at the defender.
Well, he made numerous changes, as demanded by the forum experts, yet nothing altered. So what was it this time ? Was it despite himself or because of making the changes ? Many months ago I suggested that the team simply wasn't good enough to win promotion, and that was before the slump set in. Perhaps therein lies part of the problem. They flattered to deceive, but were then sussed out.
Cooper happened upon a system at the end of last season and has stuck with it to the exclusion of everything else. There was clearly no practice of the system beforehand. It’s just not people on this thread/Board - here is what Planet Swans has written: https://planetswans.co.uk/2021/04/05/pathetic-swans-beaten-by-preston-last-minute-winner/
How did the planetswans mob feel when The Swans were fluking those late wins not so long ago ? I bet they didn't think those were pathetic results.
They recognised that we have ‘fluked’ a few results and generally are unhappy about the style of play. Some of the comments and language have been far more strident and cutting than those on this Board - we are pretty restrained in comparison
There's so much angst on here these days. How many of you suffered through the really dark ages at The Vetch ?
I’ve been going since April 1966 - not as much when I was playing senior football on a Saturday afternoon.
I never post there - but pop on now and then to see what’s flavour of the month. It seems very adversarial
Hi glam. I watched most of the game via Somerset feed on you tube. Only a friendly, but a Glam win very welcome. Excellent declarations turned what could have been a really pointless exercise into a good contest. PS, you are one of the good guys, glam.
