I remember Chester beating us at home 5-0 on Boxing Day 1968 ..... spoilt my Christmas and my birthday the next day
The slump has taken place on Cooper's watch, and as the Manager, he has to take responsibility. Doubtless he is wondering where it all went wrong. The players should also be asking questions of their performances. But what about the owners ? So, it's a new man at the helm next season then, is it ? If so, WHO ?
I can beat that one. Swansea Town 1 Workington Town 6. Second half saw the home crowd urging Workington to score another one. Kit Napier scored a hat trick. The return scoreline was Workington 7 Swansea Town 0. Napier scored 4. Workington only scored 42 goals that season, 13 of them against The Swans'. You simply have to laugh about it. I did then, I still do. Yet I went back the following game. Reading negative posts on here, just makes laugh, and brings out the devil in me.
Absolutely. Yet, all the Managers who created the Swansea Way were reviled when they left. Not admired, but reviled. I always found that strange. Not so strange though when reading the posts over the recent past. Nothing seems to change. Martinez, Rodgers, Laudrup. Remember them ?
Thanks for the points folks can't go through n entire lifetime of not winning at Swansea, if you end up in the play offs good luck might see you next season until then adieu
All great mangers and I got one would never have a bad word said against them. But you mentioned Laudrup and Dai hated him calling him Laudcrap. To me the three managers you mentioned are our top three to hold the position.
Yes, Dai had a thing about Laudrup. I felt it was not a football related thing as some of his postings defied any logic, or reality. For example, he insisted that Laudrup was sacked because he got the Swans relegated, yet he left in February, I think it was. All a bit hazy now, of course, but Dai certainly hated him. Perhaps Dai's wife had a signed photograph of Laudrup on her dressing table. Personally, I think Rodgers has matured into the best manager in the UK, and Swansea City FC can hold their heads high for giving him the opportunity to make his mark.
Would it matter. ? He will be reviled regardless of results. It's gone that far now. If I were him, reading the constant crap on here, I'd walk.
I could never get the dislike he had for Laudrup. Rodgers is an excellent manager, think the Liverpool job was too early for him. But unlucky not to win the PL, still progressed at Celtic and now getting Leicester to where they are is an achievement.
The world is full of sad losers, and they tend to gravitate to places like planetswans. ' keyboard warriors r us '.
