Both teams come off a draw over the Easter period. Norwich were held by Preston and Huddersfield by Brentford. If the Canaries pick up a point they will be assured a play-off place, but the Terriers are unbeaten in five and will surly put up a good fight against the league leaders.

    Form:
    Norwich: DDWWW
    Huddersfield: DDWDD

The Terriers contain two ex-Canaries in their ranks in Harry Toffolo and Alex Pritchard and no current Canary has played for Huddersfield. The history between the clubs is quite eaven with the Canaries winning 14, drawing 17 and losing 13 times. The clubs first played in 1960 with Norwich running out 2-0 winners. The Canaries are looking to complete the double over the Terriers for the first time since 2009/10 season.

It will be interesting to see what teams are present with a packed schedule and injuries, a similar result to the highlights attached would be welcomed:

Norwich 7 games left to play and we're on 84 points, having averaged well over 2 points per game (2 points per game + 6, 1 down from before last game or 2.15/game if you prefer). By any measure other than the result, which is the only one that counts, we dominated the game against Preston and if Pukki had been a bit more clinical in front of goal we would have won comfortably. The international break certainly hit us more than any other team and that coupled with the injuries to Gibson & Zimmermann, meant DF had a chance to give some youngsters / squad players a run out. I thought Omobadmidele, Sorensen, Mumba & Quintella did well, although both Mumba & to a lesser extent Omobadmidele were at fault for the goal. Omobadmidele's performance for me, justified the decision to let Klose go out on loan and I'm hoping to see much more of him between now and the end of the season. It was also great to see Sorensen in his natural role and Hanley’s & McLean performances were impressive, particularly when you factor in that they both played a full 90 minutes for Scotland less than 48 hours before the game. For some weeks now I along with many fans, pundits & the bookies have struggle to envisage a situation where we don’t get promoted. Despite only managing a draw on Friday, other results meant that our chances of gaining promotion actually increased. I think if we’d won either the Blackburn or PNE game I’d be fairly confident of us winning the league, however Watford have gained ground and whilst it is still ours to lose, it now looks like the race for the title may go to the end of the season. Our forthcoming game against Watford may well decide it.

Currently we are 22 points above Bournemouth (who are in 7th place, but have a game in hand), 2nd in form table with 14 points from the last 6 games and on an 11 game unbeaten run. We need one more point to guarantee a top 6 finish and are still in the running to break a couple of club records. Most wins in a season, currently 29 (League 1 - 2009/10) / Most league points, Currently 95 (League 1 - 2009/10). We play Huddersfield at Carrow Road on Tuesday, KO 7.45pm and if results go our way today and Brentford fail to win tomorrow, we would still be guaranteed a top 6 finish even if we lose. Huddersfield did are 18th in the table and fighting hard to avoid relegation. They are also 18th in the form table with 6 points from the last 6 games, however they did well to hold Brentford to a draw on Saturday. We need 16 points from our remaining 7 games to guarantee the title, irrespective of other results, so for me this is a game we really need to win. Our remaining games are Derby (A), Bournemouth (H), Watford (H), QPR (A), Reading (H) & Barnsley (A). The way things are going auto spots could pretty much be decided by the Watford game. At the very least I think we will need to avoid losing to Watford to win the title.

Watford have 78 points and are still the only team that I think have a realistic chance of finishing above us. As well as being 2nd in the league they are top of the form table with 18 points from 6. Whilst their current form looks impressive it is worth bearing in minded that 4 of those games have been against teams that currently sit in the bottom 5. The other games being Forrest (18th) & Cardiff (8th). Watford struggled to beat Sheffield Wednesday 1 nil on Friday and they have what could be a tough away fixture at Middlesbrough in the early game today, KO 12.30pm. Middlesbrough are 10th in the form table with 9 points from the last 6 games and are 9th in the table with 56 points. They really need a win to maintain any hope of a top 6 finish. Watford's other remaining games are Reading (H), Luton (A), Norwich (A), Milwall (H), Brentford (A) & Swansea (H). As well as the Middlesbrough game there is a good chance that Waford could drop points in the Reading, Brentford or Swansea games, hopefully all 3. Of the current top 6 Watford remaining fixtures look the toughest.

Brentford have 69 points and move up to 3rd having come from behind to draw with Huddersfield 1 – 1. They still have a game in hand and are 10th in the form with 9 points from the last 6 games. Brentford play Birmingham City at home on Tuesday, KO 7pm. Birmingham are 16th in the form table with 7 points from the last 6 games and did their hopes of avoiding relegation no harm by beating Swansea 1 nil on Friday. They also beat Reading on the 17th of March. Can they further help us out by beating Brentford ? Brentford's remaining games are Preston North End (A), Milwall (H), Cardiff (H), Bournemouth (A), Rotherham (H), Watford (H) & Bristol City (A).

Swansea drop to 4th as a result losing 1 nil away to Birmingham and have 69 points. They are 15 points behind us although they still have a game in hand. They are 14th in the form table having only gained 7 points from the last 6 games. They play Preston, who are bottom of the form table with 2 points from the last 6 games, today at 3pm. Hopefully Preston will be buoyed by their draw with us and avoid defeat, but I doubt it Swansea's remaining games are Millwall (A), Sheffield Weds (A), Wycombe (H), QPR (H), Reading (A), Derby (H) & Watford (A). On paper they appear to have an easier run in than most. Would be great if they went into the Watford game needing to get something to maintain a play-off place.

Barnsley are 5th with 65 points having only managed to draw 1 – 1 with Reading on Friday, a game neither team could afford to lose. Like us Barnsley’s form has dropped off recently and they find themselves 6th in the form table with 11 points from the last 6. They are away to Luton, who are 11th in the form table with 9 from the last 6. Barnsley remaining games are Middlesbrough (H), Coventry (A), Huddersfield (A), Rotherham (A), Preston (A) & host us for the last game. Hopefully their play off place will be assured before that game.

Reading still fill the last playoff spot with 62 points, but only just. They are 8th in the form table with 9 points from 6. They have only taken 3 points from their last 4 games and sit 1 point above Bournemouth who have a game in hand. They are at home to Derby today and I think they will need to win to stay in the top 6 (Bournemouth play Blackburn) Their remaining games are Watford (A), Cardiff (A), Luton (A), Swansea (H), Us (A) & Huddersfield (H). Our hope must be that they don't fold and can get something from the Watford & Swansea games or alternatively be out of the running by the time they play us.

Solid from O'dele. Especially liked that towering header clearance from their corner. Early days but very very promising!

Yeah, when I saw someone blaming him for the deflection into the net for the equaliser I thought that was a bit off. He was trying to get the block in and it happened to deflect in. I thought he worked well with Hanley, good positioning as the clips show.

In balance his early body block prevented a goal. Unfortunately defenders and goalies are singled out for mistakes, not the sum total of the rest of their game.

Deflections are just a matter of luck. Usually they are so close to the blocking player that any kind of judgment is irrelevant, all they can do is place their body between ball and goal and hope. It's not as if we havnt had a couple that have gone in our favour recently.

I think the main fault for the goal rests with Mumba. Omobadmidele was at fault to a much lesser degree, but no more than several other players that maybe could have done more in the build up to prevent the chance becoming available in the first place. For me there's no such thing as luck as all goals are preventable, it just depends how deeply you want to analyse what happened and how far you go back in the build up. I don't think the goal should detract from the assessment of Omobadmidele's or indeed Mumba's overall performance, which was excellent in all the circumstances. We had plenty of chances to put the game to bed. The reason we only drew the game is not because of we conceded in the 95th minute, it's because we failed to take our chances, in this respect Pukki is as much, arguably more responsible, for us not winning as Mumba & Omobadmidele.

    COYY

I reckon tonight’s result, when revisited at the end of the season, could well be the match we get enough points for auto promotion.

The maximum points Brentford can get is 93 and for Swansea it's 90 so we'd be very close on 87 if we win. Brentford are at home to Birmingham tonight.

Happy with that lineup, that's full strength given our injuries.

Huddersfield have had to change their goalkeeper last minute due to illness. 5 changes from the weekend, 3 enforced by injury.

Huddersfield are hard to call. Most of the season they've been pretty poor, especially away from home, but every now and then they seem to pull out a really good performance. Hope tonight is one of their poor nights.

EDIT: They've beaten Watford, doubled Swansea, and drawn with Brentford.
