Their top scorer is Callum Paterson, with 8 goals. A run of 7 losses in a row, from February 16th to March 14th, severely damaged their survival hopes. Looks like it will be a double relegation season for the city of Sheffield, with Sheffield United all but mathematically relegated. As for us, as has been discussed, we will be without Austin for the next three games. Obviously this is frustrating, but I am relieved we don't have much to play for, other than the chance of a top 10 finish. The optimist in me, hopes Austin's absence will be a chance for Willock to step up and partner Dykes up front, with Bonne and Kelman pushing for a start too. It will certainly require us to look elsewhere for some goals, and our next two games are against teams in the drop zone (this one, then Rotherham), so hopefully games we can win and give the strikers a chance to get some rhythm going. Enjoy all those who are watching, and as always...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
No, not really. It was a completely moronic thing to do though and if we were in the **** or pushing for the playoffs he’d have really let us down. Not that it really matters much at all given our position nor necessarily impacts who signs for next season, it’s not a kind set of fixtures and without him I fear we’ll be finishing the season on a bit of a downer which would be a shame as it’s actually been a bloody good season in the circumstances.
The thing is that Stroud thought there was nothing in it, didn't even award a free kick and he was looking straight at the incident around 20 yards away......... But when questioned by the FL he must have told them he didn't see it otherwise the FL couldn't do anything retrospectively....... In other words Stroud has to have lied about not seeing it as the video shows him looking directly at the incident......... Still a stupid cheap shot by Austin......
You're right, the ref is looking directly at the incident and gave nothing. Probably because he should've awarded Austin a free-kick just prior to this, so was possibly evening things up.
Oh yes totally stupid. Yes I hope this isn't the thing that makes our season peter out. Still its probably time to give Kelman, Thomas and Bettache some more minutes. Would love Dykes to bag a couple more as well.
It’s Wednesday on Saturday. Who’s on first. They are absolute crap and going down. Away win. Cheers Dave.
