How cool is it that nobody seems worried that we may get battered over the next 3 matches. We all know that whatever happens Bielsa will not allow them to roll over, he will make sure they fight, and I believe at the end of these 3 games we will have added some points to our already safe total.

On the subject of Man City why has their reserve keeper come out and spoken highly about Bielsa? Yes he sounded as if he had cum in his pants speaking about the great man. We all know about the very close relationship between pep and Bielsa, we know where Jack Harrison comes from and we know where Poveda came from, so what do we know about Zack Steffen. Hes the USA National keeper having played 21 games recently for them. He was bought by Man City for $7m which was the highest transfer fee for a keeper in the States. He was loaned out to German outfit Freiburg where he earned rave reviews and was quickly brought back Man City to cover after an injury to City's back up keeper, he's only played a couple of games for City in Europe and Cups. Anyone thinking there could be something happening here?

Other talking points this weekend are:
    • Orta is being chased again by Roma and a couple of other clubs, but Victor is quoted as saying he will not be leaving Leeds until they are playing in Europe?
    • Sol Bamba has returned to training at Cardiff and we wish him luck as it will be hard for him to get back whilst having treatment for cancer.
    • The name Emiliano Buendia has cropped up again only this time Norwich are quoting £35m simply because Arsenal are interested. We spoke to Norwich about Buendia last Summer and were quoted £25m so put the phone down.
    • Pablo, Berardi and Forshaw are just 4 players who will be gone this Summer, but I expect others as well as some 23 players.
    • One of the players could be Tyler Roberts. A well known podcast as been having debates all week about him and the main problem for the club is the following:
      • Tyler will go into the last year of his contract this Summer
      • Should the club gamble and give him a new contract extension
      • A new contract means he would be earning £60k per week
      • Will he play regular like a player who earns £60k per week, if not too much of a gamble
      • Tyler has only started 9 games this season and only completed 90 minutes 3 times.
      • Or do we spend £60k per week on a player who is guaranteed to play more and perform more?
    • This Summer work will start on the pitch again as we dig it all up and re-do the drains, the under-soil heating, the sprinkler system and foundations before relaying the pitch again.
    • We will also be completing the work we should have carried out last Summer on the dug-out and fitting new sports car seats, wonder if it'll be Audi?
    • There is also a discussion going on around starting work on extending one of the stands. Starting now means more revenue as soon as its complete, but also a gamble as nobody knows if we will ever have a full stadium again?

I think Roberts has done enough for a contract extension. 60k is too much though. It needs sorting now because if he decides to leave at least we get some money back.

Isn't Forshaw contracted for another year?

£60k pw is £3m pa - round about what we paid for Roberts.

Would we have bought him if we knew then what we know now? I doubt it.

However, the favourable variable is Bielsa, & what he might develop him into.

    Toughie.

The Square Ball boys reckon its too much of a gamble simply because Roberts has half a dozen decent games in 2 seasons and to have to give him a wage increase between £50-£60k per week is a poor return, simply because it makes it harder to sell him if he doesn't make it. To pay that sort of wage you expect to see a regular starter, not a bit part player. Is Roberts going to start ahead of a fir Rodrigo? Is Roberts going to push Bamford or be his stand-in? My own view is that next season Gelhardt would be ahead of Roberts

Can I ask where this 60k a week figure came from? Sounds like bollocks to me.

Where as the £60k figure come from Doc, I would think half that would be more realistic, doubling his current wage.

It came from Dan Moylan, apparently a Q and A where the Square Ball lads said to improve his contract and put him on a par with first teamers next season it would need to be £50k-£60k. Moylan is also pretty close with a lot of people especially the Board. A players new contract is based upon the money he saves the club in transfer fees? And the sort of wages the club would need to pay to bring someone in?

Not my view by the way but this was an actual debate on air and on line between fans, themselves and former players

Just reading all the headlines in todays game and it seems we are unlikely to win and 8 Man City players more likely to score than Bamford. Yes we are not favs but well worth a punt

Agree with you and the others about this figure. Why would we offer him that and more to the point, who would if we don’t?

Just googled the squad wages for us and last season Tyler was on 180,000 a year. Which is 3,500 a week. Factor in a substantial rise for promotion (let's say triple his wages?) which would give him around 11,000 a week.

That's a big jump up to 60,000 a week. Offer the **** 15k with add ons for performances, assists and goals and if he stalls sell him to Cardiff where he can enjoy Championship life on alot less money. The flip side is that he can stay, learn under Bielsa, get another 10-20 games under his belt in the PL and try and cement his place as a PL standard player. I'm not sure he will get that opportunity elsewhere on the back of a handful of decent appearances.

Like I say.... i think the 60k figure is a little far fetched.

Wonder how much money Heidi and the other fans who travel home and away and do pre season tours have saved this last year? I reckon if it was all added together between all those fans they could offer a loan facility to the club so we can afford a top player or build a new stand:emoticon-0103-cool:

Watch this unique free kick routine from Oldham. Keep your eye on the bouncing Oldham players in front of the keeper who then race back to the line whilst Alfie scores a screamer

I may have saved some money but my finances will never match the amount the club has in a million years. I’m the poor relation in comparison lol. I’ve still got my away season ticket renewal money waiting so at least I don’t have to save up for that one. My home season tickets are carried forward too but have got some money towards the following season’s renewals. I’m retiring in the summer too but having my football is important to me. Leeds United and family are all I want plus getting our outstanding family holiday to Disneyworld. Never had many holidays as always took them to watch Leeds!
