Well the ref gave it his best shot for them, they couldn’t take it **** it, I’m getting pissed this afternoon
Result of the season, not only did we beat City, we beat the cheating corrupt officials with ten men So proud of the lads. Didn't see the Cooper incident so can't comment but the sending off could be a blessing he's always got a calamity in him, I wouldn't be bothered if he never played for us again.
Indeed we are mathematically. Looks like I will have to dedicate the weekend to drinking, life could be worse.
So what you are saying then WJ, is that if we lose our next 6 games by two clear goals, and WBA win their next 7 games by two clear goals, then the last game means that WBA will have to come to Elland Road and win by five clear goals. I can imagine quite a few heart attacks during that game
Hurt my throat shouting, neighbours think Ive fallen off the roof but wow just wow. Not been screams like that since we won the 1st Division title under Wilko.
Meslier - 9. Couple of dodgy moments first half but was superb second half and only a slip stopped him saving the goal. Dealt with everything. Ayling - 8. Sterling had him on toast first half but dug in and stuck to his task. Made some important clearances second half and moved us up the pitch when we could. Cooper - 4. Did OK but always looked to be struggling. A few last ditch blocks, wayward passing, a possible penalty against him and what I consider to be a bit harsh red card. Surely the end of him being first choice with Koch and Struijk waiting for their chance. Llorente - 10. Not only was he a complete rock in all defensive areas he stepped in to midfield and dragged the team forward at every opportunity. Now looks like a rival to Raphinha as the signing of the season. Alioski - 7. Dived in once or twice but his energy was second to none. His pass to Dallas after working so hard all afternoon for the winning goal should not be undervalued. Phillips - 9. Stood strong. Ran his blood to water. Right place at the right time and showed he belonged at the very top level. Shame about the dead balls though. Dallas - 10. Perfect display. Two goals but his overall performance in workrate, closing down, quality on the ball and his leading of the press was more impressive than his goals. Man of the match. Roberts - 7. Tough to be the playmaker in that game. Had some moments of quality and also some moments of mediocrity on the ball but played his part in the battle until withdrawn after an hour. Raphinha - 9. Constant threat all afternoon and worked tirelessly in defence. Should have scored in a one v one before Dallas late winner. Missed a good opportunity to send Costa one v one late on and ended up injured because of it. The main threat for us throughout the game even with 10 men. Costa - 8. Another with endless energy today. Always took his man on regardless of the outcome. Always tracked back and worked with Alioski superbly as City tried to overload the wide areas. Bamford - 6. Let Stones and Ake wander through in to midfield without obstruction too often. Over ran a couple of balls in to the box which led to missed chances. Pretty poor overall but still managed an assist for the first goal. Subs. Struijk - 9. One of those performances where you don't really notice him but watch it back and he is ALWAYS in the right place to make the clearances look straight forward. A colossus and should start in front of German international Robin Koch next game. Reads the game superbly for a young un. Koch - 8. A reminder that we have real strength at central defence. Won headers at will. Mopped up and played the ball in the right areas. An embarrassment of riches at the back. Shackleton - n/a. Late sub. Never got a touch.
I had my headphones in watching on the pad. The wife hit the ceiling when we scored. Last time I shouted like that was the Swansea away game last season.
