It’s certainly different for now, but it’s still enjoyable, gives everyone a massive lift and gives the football club a new direction but promotion is for next season and hopefully we will all be back, like I say your games in hand still massive, if you win on Tuesday is back to two points off Peterborough and you still have us to play so It’s not over yet I can assure you.
I'm very happy to hear manager and players repeating 'just take one game at a time' mantra. It's nowhere near over. if Sunderland win all their remaining games they will still overtake us , as one of them is against us. Fortunately, I think the team remain focussed.
Couldn't resist a look at the SAFC board. "Good save that" "What a save" "I see their keeper has suddenly turned into Gordon Banks." That keeper being...Ben Amos
I'm also one for saying one game at a time, games in hand do count, etc. However for both Sunderland and Peterboro to keep us out of the top 2 will need some really strong runs from them and it will need us to have a surprising loss of form. I just think we have too much impetus with us now.
Great win City. Well done chaps. Whats left 3 at home, 2 away. h.Fleetwood h.Sunderland h.Wigan a.Lincoln a.Charlton Two wins , three draws. 9 pts = 88 enough?
Four wins from the last six should be enough, anything more is definitely a bonus. Not saying we'll manage it, but that would probably nail it.
Some feint praise for City in there. He was critical of them not being ruthless and thats the only thing that can be levelled at record breaking City today (and previously) - despite scoring 3. We've been very adept at managing games on this run, but at 1-0, like Lowe said, they're always in it. The low left wing cross that flashed across our 6 yard box in the 2nd half which Elder cleared for a corner - heart in mouth time. If it goes in all that work is undone. No doubt McCann and his staff will be on it though, because some of the things that were letting us down earlier in the season have been ironed out, & they have clearly got into the players heads and resolved the problems. Fittingly as Hull City Tigers we are just purring along at present and it feels rather good.
here's a thing that REALLY PISSED ME OFF. when we got the last promotion under peter taylor, we still had games left after promotion was assured. and then the player and the whole club just turned off and left for the beach. i went along to watch a good team take the mick out of the opposition, turn in no-pressure, dominating, attacking performances. and what happened? i turned up, but the players didn't. League One Sa 23Apr 2005 Walsall 3 - 0 Hull L League One Sa 30Apr 2005 Hull 1 - 2 Sheff Wed L League One Sa 07May 2005 Brentford 2 - 1 Hull L bloody thanks, peter taylor. maybe this time it'll go to the wire and there'll be no early sloping off to withernsea.
Should have won 2 titles on the trot . Never understood why they took their foot off the gas . If McCann can see it through to the title he deserves a lot if respect
