Not a bad thing at all, of course.

I was only pointing out the study was only Pfizer. I wonder whether they’ve done the same for AZ?

    Dunno mate.

Mate of mine is well into this stuff and he reckons Companies can ‘tweak’ the current basic formula to take on all current variants know. Another Vaccine on the horizon...Johnston and Johnson.

    Single Jab apparently.

Think this is one of the main ones America is rolling out. Slightly lower % protection though.

I understand the South African variant is the one most worrying people, but I do t know if that’s because it’s more difficult to tweak against or simply that it’s not picked up by the original one used (I know it’s much more transmissible though)
The tweaks are presumably what they do every year with the flu jab, but I suppose with Covid they want one job to catch everything
Still all good in the right direction though with vaccines

The Moderna vaccine is going to be given to patients in the UK for the first time today.

First doses of the jab are going to be administered at West Wales General Hospital in Carmarthen - and a total of 5,000 doses have been distributed to vaccination centres.

Moderna's vaccine is the third to be approved for use in the UK, and will be rolled out alongside jabs from Pfizer-BioNTech and Oxford University-AstraZeneca.

The UK has purchased 17 million doses of the Moderna jab, enough for 8.5 million people, and phase three results suggest the vaccine has 100% efficacy against severe cases of coronavirus.

Hull coronavirus infections surge in 24 hours as cases soar
New Covid-19 cases recorded across Hull and East Riding

Over 120 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in East Yorkshire after a sharp surge during the last 24 hours.

Case numbers have been minimal in recent weeks despite the country emerging from its third lockdown.

Only 35 positive test results were recorded on Wednesday, April 7, and 44 the day before (Tuesday).

On Thursday, case numbers in Hull and East Riding soared into triple figures for the first time in a while after 123 cases were recorded in the last 24 hours.

One hundred of those cases were recorded in Hull alone - with the city’s total now up to 19,503 since the pandemic began.

Hull has the fifth highest seven-day rolling rate in the country, with 269 cases recorded in the week leading to April 3.

I'm sure I'm having a brain fart again, but from the HDM

"Hull has the fifth highest seven-day rolling rate in the country, with 269 cases recorded in the week leading to April 3."

Apparently the >100% is because the initial number of people in that group was underestimated...I reckon they just expected more of them not to be around that long. :bandit:
