thanks for that mate wife said she would record it but forgot and a poster pointed out a few really good things i had missed due to the disappointment most of us were feeling, will enjoy this watch
well, the run had to end at some point and if we are honest we have not played great lately. watched the highlights, i have read a few comments regarding wyke 'should be dropped', but for a little luck he could have had a couple and let's face it, who else was in or would be in, those positions? not just because we lost because i have said this recently...we need defenders in the back 3/4 slots, much as luke has done a great job and power has slipped in there well when needed i feel they are being targetted more often and the 'midfielder' in them is coming out. injuries...can someone explain why we have players that seem to be taking an eternity to return?...it seems only 3 or 4 weeks ago that the mags were all up in arms because they had 3 players injured (allan saint-maximin being the 'main' worry) yet they are not only back playing but no sign of a lack of match fitness in any way, our back line especially have taken months to even get back to near full training, while i understand not wanting to disturb a winning team, surely if players are fit then they should be back in to their respective positions rather than keeping a 'shoe-in' in there. maybe we have just been more unlucky than i think on the injury front but some (especially bailey wright) seemed like a 'nothing' problem when they first happened...in the main, far happier with LJ and the effort shown by the squad than i have been in years, those early season draws are coming back to haunt us again i feel, play-offs look a daunting prospect as things stand with charlton, blackpool and pompey hitting some form, hopefully we can put this blip behind us and get back to winning ways again.
excellent post with some really good points raised, them getting a great keeper on loan should not have been allowed, i agree with your point of not playing square pegs in round holes, and reference the time out injured list . Big Sam didn't seem to have that problem Cryos?lets hope LJ can sort the lack of goals out for the next one God i hope so, us old farts are getting a bit long in the tooth waiting for success lets hope it comes soon
If we do have another season in L1 we will absolutely have the biggest budget and be the most attractive option in the league. Whilst I understand your points, I have no worries about replacing any player in the squad. I expect us to be able to outbid a number of Championship clubs for players
He's our top scorer, by some distance considering he doesn't take free kicks and penalties .... . .. at this stage of the season, people wanting him out of the team need to have a think. Would any of our rivals consider dropping their top scorer now?
With regards to Wyke he had two seasons of less than mediocrity, which had a lot of posters wanting him gone along with Grigg and Graham, but LJ came along reintroduced McGeady who a lot on here wanted gone but have short memories, the two clicked and because of that Wyke hit a purple patch which we all enjoyed. Teams have sussed out those tactics now, so without the odd wonder goal from McGeady we would have lost a few more, it's up to LJ now to come up with the tactics to overcome that, i'm sure he will i have confidence in him to do that, but i think that will involve a turnaround of personnel for a few games to get back on track.
I think a lot of people are taking the last 2 seasons into account and wondering if his current form is actually the true Charlie Wyke. I think it would be harsh to drop him but he needs a goal. I'd argue we haven't been playing to his strengths of late - how many crosses have we put into the box in the last 5 games?
I don't want him out of the squad but there are some games that don't suit him and I don't think he'll be here next season. I don't think any player should be an automatic choice but, at this stage of the season, we need players who can make a difference.
So you want him dropped for some games but at this stage of the season anyone wanting him out the team need to have a think That clears that up
Why are you determined to turn this place into another version of the SMB? Chasing someone down over their opinions, searching out their old posts in a desperate attempt to be "right". You'll be claiming he is "rattled" next Let's not let the awful SMB tendencies seep into this place.
Well thats one way to look at it. In the real world i was interested in why somebody who had said they want Wyke dropped had since had such a change of heart he was mocking others for suggesting it I actually go out my way to have as little interaction with the bloke as possible
I wanted Johnson sacked yesterday, now I've calmed down and realise I was wrong. Do you wish to seek out my posts and get me to acknowledge my mistakes?
You avoid him so much you've created multiple accounts just so you can complain about everyone on here being in his cult. How many times you manged to get yourself banned now?
