Couple of saves towards the end of the first half were enough to include Ingram. If they'd scored before half time the second half could have been quite different.
Firstly not one of them let us down yesterday .. they played as a team and won as a team. But in my opinion 3 did stand out from the rest. 1. Doc .. brilliant engine .. absolutely imperious performance with dynamics that defy the normal human being .. the guy is a beast and wonderfully taken goal to cap a fantastic display. 2. Ingram .. yeh yeh I know .. midfield and forwards catch the headlines but at 1-0 he made some terrific saves and added that assuredness this defence so often needs at times given the young age of the centre back pairing. 3. Jones .. again at 1-0 he put in one of the best tackles I seen since Turners intervention at Wembley .. in the penalty area with the lad ready to pull the trigger he timed his tackle to perfection.. and all this playing in a position which arguably isn't his strong suit. Kudos to all the lads and the manager for making the game look easy after we got the second but no time to rest on laurels here .. while a lot seem to think we've already done enough I dont concur and as such we need to be on it for every minute til we are mathematically certain of going up. Keep em grounded .. keep em keen .. and keep em firing.
Unfortunately I didn’t see the the match yesterday so cannot comment but I listened to McCan when he mentioned the Doc and something stood out. A lot of you have put the Doc at numiro uno so I’m hoping I can point this out... McCan said it’s unbelievable how much of the pitch he covers yet can simply slot that goal away carm as you like. Myself personally I’d be fighting for breath and could bearly kick the bugger but this lad after gut busting runs just slots it away... amazing. What a player, what an absolute steal !!!!
From memory, was the first half, he went on mazy run but delayed shooting and Greaves nicked off his foot just as he was about to shoot. Or it was someone else. Or it didn't happen. Dunno.
