Makes you wonder what they were looking at for 3 minutes before deciding to play on. The referee got it wrong and the rules clearly back that up.
Therefore it must be ok for a defender to go full length and tip the ball round the post with his hand because he can't reach it with his head.
All he does is clear the ball.. Like I say he's unaware longcrap is there and Longstaff has to go for it. It's just something that happened and there was no foul play intended. That's the key for me. He doesn't know he's there and he does get the ball 1st. I don't care what the rule book says in saying what I believe is just common sense. We need decisions to be made using a little common sense that's all.. We want a goal given for that? Not for me
99% of fouls are accidental but never the less they are fouls 1% of fouls are not accidental and are punished by yellow or red cards Source :- from a Football League Referee
Exactly - so he gained an unfair advantage and put another player in danger by going for it with his foot. It may be a stupid rule to you but it is a rule. I doubt he didn't know Longstaff was there looking at the angle. Its neither here nor there but its a good discussion point from the match as it highlights another area of inconsistency in refereeing that should be, but will not be, resolved by VAR.
That's fine my the rule book it's a penalty, but I personally don't agree that's a penalty. I think this is the breakdown in understanding. All this crap needs removing from the game and the get some common sense in it. There's always going to be cry arsing but I don't want my team getting goals for that
If an offence involves contact it is penalised by a direct free kick or penalty kick. Careless is when a player shows a lack of attention or consideration when making a challenge or acts without precaution. No disciplinary sanction is needed Reckless is when a player acts with disregard to the danger to, or consequences for, an opponent and must be cautioned Using excessive force is when a player exceeds the necessary use of force and endangers the safety of an opponent and must be sent off Playing in a dangerous manner is any action that, while trying to play the ball, threatens injury to someone (including the player themself) and includes preventing a nearby opponent from playing the ball for fear of injury As such this is a 100% penalty by the laws of the game. Saying a player is not aware of what around them is no excuse and in fact makes it a certainty. We are told to coach scanning, checking your shoulder by the FA in and out of possesion - it is litereally the FA's main drive currently. If one of my 13 year old girls said they were not aware of what was around them they'd get a punch in the ovaries.
And yet Son rolling around after getting gently caressed on the cheek isn't cry arsing and the goal was rightly disallowed? At least be consistent in your wind up attempts, otherwise it just gets too confusing to follow!
Essentially this crap about contact can GTFO. That's the problem. Was it a foul and make a common sense decision based on the situation.
Sorry but it has nothing to do with the point I've made. I'm saying he knew what he was doing and that makes it a foul. No wind up I don't think it's a pen. I don't think many are and im not bias towards the team I love to win. Most fans managers wanting it both ways, have led to all this
Just answer this question What happens if the ref blows for the whack in sons face? Nobody complains its simply seen as a foul and the goal never happens. Just because they scored doesn't mean it didn't happen And let's not forget its you lot that want a pen for Longstaff, but didn't think rashford deserved either of his vs Newcastle I'm saying neither were fouls and neither should be pens So who's being inconsistent??? It's not me
^^^^ Posted at the time Just wanted to provide evidence it's my genuine opinion rather than the usual crap I get because I don't happen to agree on what's popular. Sorry it gets tiring I'm simply being honest
That's on you think what you want but I'm not changing my opinion. I believe im right and I'll not insult your view
Also I can't be wrong It's my opinion Like I alluded to earlier its this type is **** that's ruining the sport and I don't like soft pens for any club including mine. I don't want goals given for that kind of thing Im clearing that
