    Match preview;
When this match was due to be played, on February 13th, Rotherham were 20th and we were 16th. Both clubs have had a very different two months since then. Rotherham have won one, drawn one and lost eight. We, on the other hand, have won seven, drawn two and lost four. We are now 11th, and pushing on for a top 10 finish, whereas Rotherham are now 22nd, six points from safety, albeit with three games in hand. In March, there was an outbreak of COVID at the club, with the BBC reporting they had 25 positive cases on March 17th. From what I can make out from the article, both players and coaching staff were affected, and had to self-isolate.

I want us to win on Tuesday night, but you have to feel a bit for Rotherham. An already packed schedule is only going to get worse for them now, and on top of that they'll have players who are having to try and get back to full fitness after being ill. On a more positive note, when I did the match day thread back in February, Brentford were top of the league, and now they are 3rd, and nine points away from 2nd place Watford, heartbreaking.

Another performance like today, and I'd hope all three points will be ours, and another couple of goals for Dykes would be splendid. Enjoy all those who'll be watching, I'll add teams news if it goes on the official, and as always...

    ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

    Thanks Dave.
    Another game already!
After today we'll be expecting to reach double figures.
However, beware the wounded animal with fight left in him still.

Rotherham's next game on Thursday is, I hope the one they are concentrating on. It's the mother of all six pointers against Coventry. They can't go flat out in both and you would have thought that busting a gut against us only for Coventry to restore the six point gap thereby using up 2 of their 3 games in hand in the process is not logical. Guaranteed that football managers and players aren't exactly Einsteins but you would have thought a nice label like 'squad rotation' should have occurred to them

A win in this one would take us to 60 points, a total not achieved since 2015-16, when we finished 12th. We have been deeply mediocre for a very long time. About time we snapped out of it.

    Come on you Hoopsa!

    Cheers Dave.

I was just thinking last night about where we are as a club and squad.

I really don't think we're much more than mediocre and mid table. Look at the squad names, we really haven't got that much by way of experience and high quality (I'm excluding players on loan).

We do have a few young players who can develop, though. I wonder if there are any good players coming through at age 16-17-18-19? We also have Amos coming back at some stage.

To get to a level where we're reaching for the playoffs without punching above our weight, we need to develop the squad a lot more with some good players on permanent.

I'd happily take Austin and Johansen permanently. We desperately need a good right back or right wing back who can defend.

I actually think we need a replacement for Chair, unless someone (in the coaching team or one of the experienced players) who can really grab him by the scruff of the neck, get rid of his bad habits and get him to have a better footballing brain.

In Chairs' defence, this is his first season in the Number 10 position, a spot Eze had last year. It took Eze a season to believe he should wear the shirt and imagine that Chair may feel the same pressure. With the expienced loanees we have in the squad, they should be able to help him develope. In my opinion he has come on leaps and bounds this year (as has Seny) and both are good young pros that can only get better with more games.

Three points on Tuesday would be good. Give Thomas a start and also Uncle Albert

Chair is a very talented player. Unfortunately, he makes a lot of bad decisions and I'd be amazed if he's ever anywhere near Eze's level.
    Hopefully, he'll learn and improve.

Good question about the 16-19 age range. The ones we seem to hear most about are Sinclair Armstrong, Joe Gubbins, Kelman, and Joe Walsh. No idea how good any of them really are. Anyone missing? I'm holding out hope that Chimaechi Eze can be half as good as his brother too :)

They’re all going to be mistaken for home fans dressed like that.

Not sure how we have a game tonight given the Sheff Wed game finished two hours ago but here we are.

It's would be bloody difficult for many players to reach Ezes level. He has a natural talent. I also think its quite naive for people to even think Chair is capable. He's a totally different kettle of fish. I would much prefer Chair in the team than not. He's a little character with bags of potential but not a replacement for Eze. Willock is closer to that style of player, able to keep the ball in tight areas, create that little bit of space out of nothing. Again not up to Ezes standard but the closest thing we have.
