Spurs getting a fair but of grief for this, but it's not what Spurs are asking people to do, it's what the government is insisting on for this trial.

Yes but if the clubs themselves don't push back on this it will become a similar type of set up for all clubs and fans across the board next season, the vaccines work so should be no need for anything imho.

I was hoping for a bit of common sense to prevail next season but maybe not

Apart from not allowing under-18's I wouldn't have a problem with this.
It's on April 25 so we're still under restrictions.
It's a trial, not a blueprint for the future.
Nothing wrong with being tested negative beforehand, half the people applying won't have been vaccinated, few will have been vaccinated twice.
The post-match tests are requested, not required.
Tiresome? Yes. SICKENING AND OUTRAGEOUS? I think not.

    Exactly.

I also think they've got an eye on how far they can push things for the Euros.

Piper visitors gutted as bookings cancelled and birthdays ruined
The Hull club turned post-lockdown outdoor bar was a number of venues visited by council officers
A city centre bar had to cancel bookings on their first day of re-opening after Hull City Council found they were in breach of regulations around the re-opening of bars and restaurants.

The Courtyard at Piper cancelled several customer bookings yesterday after representatives from Hull City Council visited on Saturday and asked the Newland Avenue bar to remove some of the outdoor tables and chairs, reducing their capacity.

Other city centre bars have also had to remove shelters that had been specially-installed for bad weather, while another has been forced to scrap bookings over four people.

Taking to Facebook over the weekend, the Courtyard at Piper said bookings are affected up to April 24 - news which was clearly disappointing for upset customers who had been excited at the prospect of their first pub meal and drink in months.

One wrote that they were “proper gutted” and another commented “birthday ruined".

The Courtyard posted “It is with deep regret that we have had to cancel a number of bookings. Unforeseen issues with guidance released yesterday (Saturday) by Hull City Council regarding the reopening of outside hospitality has made us unable to provide service to some of the tables booked.

“The majority of the new seating in The Courtyard is unaffected but an issue has arisen with smaller moveable tables.

“We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.”

They have offered a full refund to customers and a complimentary drinks voucher.

Larkin’s Bar, also on Newland Avenue, has also been asked to make changes, with owners asked by the council to remove some roofs and side shelters which did not meet Government guidance, which states that 60 per cent of walls are open, to allow good ventilation. No bookings have been affected, however.

They wrote on their Facebook page: “We had an email yesterday morning and have since been in touch with representatives from the council and have had to make some last minute adjustments to our outside area due to some updates in the guidance.

“Because of this we have to take out some of the roofs and sides on some of our tables. We have done everything possible to ensure that all tables are still under cover.”

Bar 82 also announced to its customers that its outdoor covered seating area had been declared “not Covid compliant” and they had been asked to remove the roof over the weekend.

The courtyard roof, which has been there for four years, has now been dismantled in order for the pub to be able to re-open.

Their Facebook post said: “This is disappointing to us, however in order for us to comply and be able to open and avoid a fine we are having to remove the roof, apparently our outside area is in fact indoors.”

The cocktail bar, in Princes Dock Street, said it will re-install the roof in late May once restrictions are further relaxed.

Similarly, Furley and Co pub in Princes Dock Street emailed customers with bookings of six people today to say they would now have to reduce their booking to four people in order to comply.

In an email, the pub staff wrote: “We have been notified that our outdoor benches are no longer suitable for groups of six people, despite these being perfectly acceptable for our service last year.”

“Unfortunately, all existing bookings of six will be reduced to four.”

Other bars affected by last minute changes included Silvers Bar in Silver Street who were restricted to bookings of three people.

A spokesman for Hull City Council said: “Hull City Council, like all local authorities, is responsible for ensuring that local businesses correctly interpret and implement government guidance. When businesses fail to implement suitable measures, we will contact them outlining the necessary changes that they must make.

“From the very start of the pandemic, we have urged businesses to contact us if they have any questions regarding the guidance and the measures they must put in place.

"We have published various government guidance and support, and also contacted businesses directly with information.

“Hull City Council has a responsibility to the city’s business community and residents to ensure that all businesses interpret and implement the guidance correctly and safely.”

Businesses can find information from www.hull.gov.uk and the government website at www.gov.uk.

Besides, Spurs fans under the age of 18 have a lifetime of watching Spurs not win a trophy. No big miss for them.

Just go down Humber Street, it's far nicer down there and you get to check out the new bridge.
