A shame, as I understand French people are having no bother remaing here if they wish, as many have done. They need to have been here before Jan this year I think and to apply for some sort pre- settlement scheme, but basically, if you were here you can stay.

 

Thanks for all the messages which are truly appreciated, they've really moved me and will make this move just a little easier.

This forum has become too divisive for me and there are people, like @Makemstine Roger who only want the board to function if they can have all their little pals and make it just like it was when there was only them posting. They have little real interest in football, or SAFC, but just want a forum where they can form a circle and pat each other's backs. @brb is just 'another of the lads' who has his little favourites who can do no wrong, fair enough.
They want things to go back to 'the good old days' when their little clique ruled the board and everyone else was shouted down.

They obviously hate the new people who've recently arrived and couldn't care less who the 'old guard' are. The people who believe they kept the board 'buzzing' even though there were only a dozen of the sad old knackers posting about their army days and how many women they've shagged.

OK lads, it's all yours ...

as you know i live in germany yet have all in german a car, bank accounts, residency permit, driving licence, and even medical card which Britain pays for under the S1 form you fill in if you have 35 years paid taxes in, the **** that happens is when you try and cheat the system and think they wont find out, i bought my house here but if your living in someone else's house you still can't escape the tax man

One of the biggest problems with the board is the unnecessary bile and arguments and funnily enough you seemed to be involved in 90% of them so that tells you something

I'm interested as to the actual difficulties you were having. The UK seems to be bending over backwards to help people stay here, are France just abandoning Brits?

 

After discussion, Smug probably won't reply to this because it's been decided by us mods that he's to have a break from here and he'll not be back until May 14th.

He's a very valuable member that stimulates the board quite a lot, usually in a very positive way, so it'll be a lot quieter, but we feel that this gives a chance for 'things' to calm down

He's going to be busy with a return to blighty anyway, so this will probably be good for him.
