Lol I don't really care about it anymore. For me, I don't agree with the non relegation aspect of it but I really like the idea of sticking it up the PL, FIFA and UEFA for allowing the game to be where it is today. This is a fight between billionaires - no single party is blameless.

The levels of hypocrisy is what astounds me the most. you have people at sky giving us lessons about morality ... Sky ... the corporation run by Rupert Murdoch. You have FIFA condemning this but they awarded a World Cup to Qatar! you have UEfA who are guilty of accepting bribes left right centre, allowing teams to flaunt FFP. You have PL allowing states and oligarchs to run clubs and create an unfair environment that way.

Teams are already going bust - look at Bury as example. Grassroots football is in the bin - where is the so called money from this football pyramid.

you have d*ckheads like Carra getting on his high horse about it killing the game. This is a guy who tried to get to Rafa sacked and replaced with Roy, and then used his position to negotiate a new contract with Hicks and Gillette.

You have Gary Neville who wants to preach - forget the fact the took of Salford, pumped millions into the club to turn them around - that isn't unfair is it? Or his relationship with Peter Lim, who has ruined Valencia. The same Gary neville who lines his pockets with his salary from Sky.

Then I saw Alex Ferguson having a go at this. Yet, he remained quiet all of these years about the Glazers's and their running of the club. but now wants to pipe up. He was their biggest cheerleader not long ago.

And this is what I can't stand - everyone is hypocritical and self serving. that's why I say bring this Super League and bring down the house of cards (but then build a new one) Lol!

If this doesn't go through I can see us going up for sale.

Seems to me that FSG feel they can't afford to stay in the football game unless there is a guaranteed pay day every season.
Covid, failure of FFP and Oil barons outspending everyone all make invester owners like FSG nervous. They were step up to make money off investments, if they can't do that they'll cut their losses while the club is above the price the paid.

I think ya just angry Jimmy.

You really can't mean all that?

Best case scenario that comes out of this for me would be, the teams are blocked somehow from joining it.

Then the govt steps in to protect the integrity of our leagues by making it so that we have a similar thing they have in Germany with fans being owners and having the majority vote on club decisions. Tell the owners of all English clubs they have 5/10 years to make it so.

I Dunno of any of that is even workable but that's what I'd like to see come out of all this.

True, it's a fight between people who have no interest in the game or its fans, and who just see it as a cash cow.
However, from the fans' point of view it will make a mockery of the domestic leagues, and the ESL will probably be little more than a series of exhibition matches with not much at stake.
This is not what I want from my football.

If so, I wonder if I'll be happy with us having a city type sugar daddy owner.

I fuking hate the chavs and city/psg for that.

    Hmm its a dilemma <laugh>

It's all capitalism at the end of the day. And capitalists love capitalism until another bigger and richer capitalists comes along ...

    Hmmmm,

    Interesting is this.

The owners are a disgrace, are they really? The days of owners actually giving a **** about a club are well and truly over. They are an investment or a plaything nothing more nothing less.

It's funny that tobes is up in arms about it, but has no problem with City having millions upon millions pumped into them.

It's all the same ****, owners trying to maximise the profit from their business.

To them It's not their heart and soul, it's not the constant in their life it's a bank balance they want to see get bigger.

Football is a great big cash cow, that everyone want a bigger and bigger slice of. Money & corruption are rife, yet we still happily pay the sky bill and get our kids the latest top.

The only way it changes is if you stop your subscription, stop buying their ****.

Go and watch your local Sunday league team, it's free and generally quite good.

In closing for my nonsensical rant, are the owners a disgrace, no they arnt, they are doing what's best for them.

Maybe we are the disgrace for allowing this to get so bloated with nothing more than a shrug if the shoulders

    when you think about it.

bitcoin was what 5k in march 20202 and is now 50k? that is a 10x profit from anyone speculating.

Our mates in boston bought us for 200mil and we are now worth 2billion or something.

seems to be that's a bitcoin level profit right there.

When you REALLY think on this league, its week in week out playing rich clubs. clubs with 2-300mil extra revenue or with a back pocket of billions to play the glory game.

LFC are on a hiding to NOTHING entering that type of league. Thats reality. We can complete on the odd day with the CL and can beat up the **** english teams to get top 4. once in a while all things align and we can win.

long term if this doubled the worth of LFC to 5 billion then who is going to buy it? who will buy in at 2bil?

I wonder about this investment thing we heard about from RedBird Capital Partners.

Of course these bodies have brought it all on themselves with their greed and stupidity, but I don't want to see football become collateral damage in bringing them down.

Going to be a rough ride ahead, I reckon. FSG didn't need an excuse not to spend money anyway, but the period between now and them selling us for what they think they can get will make the last days of H & G seem like Shang-ri-la, imo. Scorched earth ahead - be prepared, be strong. :emoticon-0108-speec

I'm with you, rather than being entertained, looking forward to the match, quite eager to discuss football with people.

I feel ground down by this season, its been shockingly poor.

No crowds took 90% of the atmosphere away, var removed the last 10%.

This season has been sterile, I've taken no joy from it.

After this latest debacle, I wonder whether that absolute love will ever return.
