No Jimmy. There is a massive difference in what these disgusting owners were trying to do. That difference is COMPETITION. A west ham or Everton would had a chance and Arsenal wouldn't be rolling in money for 23 years.

They had kidnapped a victim to seek a ransom from the parents (Cl from UEFA) The parents gave them what they wanted. What did these pieces of **** do after they got their ransom? They killed their victim.

The Cl and UEFA are far from perfect but the solution was not to create a rich money grabbing cartel involving 15 richest clubs and kill the rest.

In some ways, quite an honest apology.

    - Apologises for the negativity and disruption, not the plan itself.

    - Says people in England always knew it wouldn't fly without fan support. Apparently that's news to the people in the USA.

    - What hurts most is the disruption to the LFC employees

    - People at liverpool love the club and work every day for it to be its best (FSG don't)

Sounds like they're not selling though.

It's a start but the apology was pathetic. He apologises in the first few seconds then tries to make excuses whilst applying band aids on broken limbs! Plus it should have been done yesterday.

That wouldn't have changed this, they'd (FSG) would have done it anyway. Was the board room even consulted?

And I thought the board room already liaise with a fan's group?

Do any of us really believe this so called apology? It would have taken a big expensive PR team to come up with this nauseating rubbish. They obviously hope that now everything will be forgotten.

Agree, the "apology" would have been written for him.

He looks like he's been dragged out off bed, stuck in a corner and forced to do #irony

The new CL reforms guarantee positions for clubs even if they finish outside of the CL places so it’s not totally different. You’re still gonna end up with 90% of the same clubs in it

This will keep cropping up in various forms until football finally brings in wage restraint and rigidly enforces it .

I was more interested in bringing corrupt organisations down. I'm against the closed nature of it but I also see some merits in the SL.

It all boils down to 1 thing - clubs want to manage their own tv deals.

Exactly this. The big clubs got what they want - Perez taking a lot of flak but he actually got what we wanted. Increased revenue (UEFA have secured additional funding), guaranteed spots for Europe's elite even if they dont qualify, and even the format is similar to the SL.

More it was about a closed shop so they could control costs while at the same time increasing revenue through digital channels .

    That happens most seasons anyway.

Obviously I'm against guaranteed qualifications, it's simply not fair or sporting.

the history of FSG failing to listen is extremely long.

lets ignore thier business speak emails that got leaked. It was indeed a global brand and a very cheap price.

    sacking king kenny.

Starting a common thread of officially lying to fans and media over players "injuries" in transfer windows.

    balotelli being forced on rodgers

Sacking rodgers staff but not him.
then we had the £77 tickets and that protest. again not listening at all and lost all the good will off the main stand

Several delays to anfield road end. putting profit over fans consistently has raised more and more and more anger.
then we have the we might sell to whoever stuff coming out several times.

then we had the premier league land grab project

    and now this.

At each and every time the club have listened that the local heart and values are the same.
The lack of urgency in them is astonishing and then the rashness on the other hand is astonishing.

On the one hand whenever investment is needed they are found wanting, they chose to delay the anfield expansion once, and then twice. When we needed a player they were found wanting on several occasions. The balotelli incident being the first glaring one but anyone could tell them after being european champions that that was the time. they missed than then replicated the error this january.

they chose for some reason to only do "one project at a time" so built the training ground and refused point blank to use the current perfectly good anfield road end outline planning to start.

here we are headed for 10 years later, no building.

on the other hand we have our owners acting like total ****wits in utting out proposals that not one single lfc fan would tell them they should be anywhere near. Those proposals are all for behind closed doors discussions with uefa and the premier league. to publicise them only drags LFCs name through the mud. to even be pushing for such control is wrong but to be reckless on top and make yourself look like a greedy **** is simply not right.

The ESL would have been more corrupt then UEFA since it would have been run or controlled by greedy billionaires

the only issue the english clubs have is 6 into 4 doesn't go.

the other leagues like spain and italy are not worried about qualification par se they are worried about money and competing with the allow oil state doping thats driven some of them to the brink of bankruptcy.

The difference which these owners hoped fans would glance over is competition and dreams. Yes 90% of the clubs in these comps would be the same. But massive difference is that others would have a chance and that if a team is really **** in their domestic league they may not get in. Like guardiola said " Its not sport when it doesn't matter whether you lose or win. You are rewarded" .
