Seeing as the rich six have decided that the football pyramid is actually more important to their survival than a euro super league, perhaps now would be a good time to turn the screw on them further and get more Prem tv money filtering down said pyramid. I also think now is the perfect time to get some legislation in place regarding agents as no one is going to defend the likes of Raiola wanting £10mil for sorting a contract out. Apart from agents of course but they can **** off.

Big six should be given a points deduction and heavy fines for attempting mutiny, pleased to see unity among fans, football the game of the people, not the controlling spivs.

Saw perez saying football is shrinking and needs to adapt as everyone is losing money.

Put a salary cap in place.

Stop spending these idiotic amounts of money on transfer fees.

Stop paying all this ****ing money to agents.

Demented ****. Your club is a badly run business. Plenty of clubs turn over a tidy profit with far less ****ing revenue than yours.

Deserves a poke directly in the eye.

If the reason was because they were losing money, I cant see why this Super League was not just going to dig themselves a bigger hole. Surely if things had gone to plan then more of their money would have been spent on wages, transfers and agents? And if, after a few years, it all had become like some big white elephant? It may have dropped them firmly in the clarts, and the rest of the footballing world would be in no mood to give them a hand up. Even without considering the instant backlash, to me the whole thing seemed an unnecessary risk. They already have a disproportionate large enough slice of the existing tasty cake. Why risk baking a new one all for themselves, with the risk of it tasting rotten?

That's the point to me, these clubs have been badly run from a financial point of view. They're responsible for the over inflation of fees and wages and are now crying their arses about not having enough money. Messi currently gets about a £1mil a week and over the last few seasons Barca have spent over 100mil on three players and are about £1 billion in debt. I think I see a way out of this that doesn't involve playing in the JP Morgan Closed Shop Cup.

If it went ahead , some matches were to be played in Middle East and other places- in midweek. Funny how Arsenal /ManU were ok with that , when it was particularly them ( under Wenger and Ferguson) who whinged about tiring distances travelled midweek ( when they lost the following Saturday) . But, if you get money .....

It's absolutely diabolical. They created the problem and then tried to tried to leave it behind for everyone else to deal with.

    Utter scum.

On another note, I read that Sheffield United have a bigger revenue than AC Milan. Pretty comical.

The tricky bit here is how to punish the owners, who by the looks of it signed up without consulting anybody, without ultimately punishing the fans. Maybe a fine equal to a year's tv money and a ban on raising ticket prices?

I wonder how possible it would be to force the privately owned clubs amongst the 12 to assume the German 50+1 model. That would be a suitable punishment for the owners without affecting the fans. For Barcelona and Real Madrid it is more difficult. Maybe banning their presidents from being involved in football?

Thats been bubbling for years mate.

Actually FSG have taken huge amounts of money out of the club, they have been under pressure from the fans even last season when they said there wasn’t enough investment in the squad to keep it competitive, and the fans were right, van Dijk and a couple other o juries destroyed them.

They signed an outrageous Nike deal and the money wasn’t used to enhance the squad, they couldn’t compete with Chelsea for Werner, couldn’t buy a top class CB.

They’ve spend, yea, but well below their income. Klopp’s ability to mould won them the title, but they were so fortunate with injuries last season as the back up is not even in the same stratosphere as City have.

I hope to god this fiasco doesn’t just get swept under the carpet or I can see another uproar bigger than the one that’s just been.

Nice one chief. I knew their must be more to it than I've followed from over here.
What a time for LeBron to be getting more and more involved. I'm wondering if his involvement had anything to do with the franchise model they were clearly in favour of.
They look to have dodged a bullet with Werner mind.

My (practical) approach would be firstly, IF they are not kicked out, inform them that they are not trusted. No person from any of those clubs to be allowed on any internal Premier League body, for say, fifteen years. A generation. Secondly, none of the clubs to be allowed to represent the League in Europe for four years. Thirdly, ( if they can do this, I'm pretty sure they can do the first two), a transfer ban for two years.

That would be letting them off very lightly IMO. Better to kick them out and let them apply for permission to rejoin the pyramid.

Werner will be quality next season mate, mark my words.

He’d actually have been a better fit for Liverpool than Chelsea, he would work well with Mane and Salah.

What’s good with Werner, is he publicly came out, accepted he underestimated the physicality of the league, and he will work on that. He’s a player.

Potentially yeah. I rate Teuchel but he’s never had to really mould a team, he seems to be doing a good job already to his credit.

He's come across as much more honest and likeable than I thought he would. Makes the Lampard appointment laughable.

Now let's just see what happens to those English teams who were 100% commited to signing up to, and/or agreeing to, the principal of an official breakaway (in their minds) -

These Clubs MUST face a justice !

so the six have now pulled out..i really hope they still get some harsh punishment, also, the footballing bodies need to get some revised rules in place to stop anything similar, while most will want it brushed under the carpet it should not be allowed to 'go away quietly' while these clubs still benefit from the game.
