Nig's picture of him with his dad made me think . . . . there must be loads of foties of us on here being proud to be with our dads.
Here's one of me at Butlins in Filey having my first 'pint' (mine's only a half 'cos I was only 14)
with my dad (who we 'lost' a few years ago) 20210422_060929.jpg Cheers, Dad <cheers>

I was . . . . when I got married it was mentioned that I looked like him :cheesy:

Quite a few thought that my hair was permed, too, but I used to wash it and just leave it (an early version of 'wash & go'). I never combed it :emoticon-0147-emo:

It's a bit lighter now than it was, mind, but I'm not bald like my dad was :emoticon-0148-yes:

I have never been one for photos so dont have any digital ones. Always preferred my memories but the older I get the more I realise they fade so wish I had a few photos.

However, thought a story about my Dad and me may raise a chuckle or two. It was mid to late 70s and he took me to my first night match. Cant remember who we played but remember the floodlights and the excitement and staying up late on a school night. Walk to the ground from the car I was mesmerised. Seats in the mainstand. First half is a blur. Half time me Dad goes to get us a bovril each. I sit nursing it because it is about a million degrees but we nearly score and I get excited. Bovril spilt on my hand. Utter agony (I was a bairn!). Tears. Dad doesnt want to miss the game though so he says hold the car and door key metal to cool it down <laugh> After a few minutes the blisters are getting worse and the old fella in the seat next to me says best go to St Johns ambulance. With much muttering Dad takes me down under the stand to the st johns staff. They decide to take us to their ambulance outside the ground. Quickest way is to walk behind the goal and in front of the roker. Here is me holding my hand in front of me like it is about to explode. My Dad shaking his head and a few in the roker having a chuckle at my Dads expense. He has never let me forget it.

St Johns bandaged both fingers, the ones you flip the V with. Never went back in the ground - straight home. To this day I am sure Dad didnt fancy the return trip past the roker. Canny day in school next day mind as it was in the days you put your hand up to ask or answer so with my makeshift V sign I asked loads of questions <laugh><laugh>

My first Sunderland match was with my Dad, away at Stoke. It was in the winter and I was only about 8 and remember being absolutely freezing throughout the first half.
At half time he went and bought two hot pies - one to warm my hands and the other to warm my feet after he told me to take my shoes off.
It worked until the pies went cold, and we left early, missing the winning goal from the Lads.
I've been to many other matches with him since then and managed to stay till the end for most of them. He's 91 now and can no longer get to the games, but I'm sure he'd still get me a couple of pies if I was cold.
    Love him to bits.

It seems that some, like Vince has mentioned, do not have foties of them with their dads, so we could include us with our sons, which fits in with a 'proud dads' theme.
Here's me and my boy at christmas when he was allowed to stay overnight IMG-20201223-WA0002.jpg
I'm more proud of him than I was of my dad :emoticon-0105-wink:

Sorry to all the fellas with no pictures.
I took mine off as I'm not really one for posting pictures but emotions and drink got the better of me.
I might hoy it back up again later.
I'm not one for social media and generally hate seeing pics or videos of meself up online especially.
