So so much better last night. I've said it so many times, but I just want to see our players taking on defenders, turning them to face their own goal and creating problems for them, rather than playing the tippy tappy in front of them and then losing the ball and getting hit on the counter. We did the former last night and it paid big dividends. Want to see more of this.
Firstly we are good. Secondly Saka, ESR, Pepe, Odegaard, Martinelli need to make up the three attackers behind our striker. The striker needs to be Laca or Auba. Thirdly, Slavia and SHU are dogshit so two away wins doesn't necessarily paper over the cracks. We need a few wins on the bounce in the league now.
We need to get 6 wins out of remaining 7 games, and we would finish above Spurs as I think Spurs could drop more points/games
The infuriating Arsenal side continues to infuriate. Should have been 2-3 up at half time. Bellerin and Elneny have been completely off the pace. I think Bellerin is done - Im not sure he will ever reach his old level at this point.
Dont think it matters if Arteta wins the cup or or not.. He really needs to go.. We definitely have regressed under him, he is completely out of his depths!
Another abject performance at home. Arteta made too many changes when it wasn't necessary. And although we created more than Fulham (as you'd expect), the finishing on display wasn't good enough and the volume of chances wasn't good enough. Elneny and Bellerin were the two weak points, I don't know why they were selected and more importantly why they took so long to come off. Fulham's penalty should not have stood, as I could barely see any contact, but why did Gabriel swing his leg out like that? It was just so careless when he didn't need to be. Pathetic all round. I think that's our feint hopes of a top-6 finish officially over now.
What I will say is... Arteta will not be here long term if he doesn’t improve the league form. We just can’t find any sort of consistency.
Finishing above us this season will probably mean you've finished 8th or 9th and appx. 35 points off the top of the table. That's hardly cause for celebration.
it would be us having a **** season and Spurs having a ****e season - both would be crap but that’s the level both clubs are at presently
Even taking into account the mistake by Leno. How and why do people defend the manager with these results?
Seriously what the **** is this ****. Get someone else in. What the **** is the process??? There is no ****ing process.
I would be amazed if anyone is still defending him though.. He really does have crazy team selection though. Martinelli has been in an around the team for the past few weeks, Balogun has recently signed his contract, he selects Nketiah to lead the line.. Dont get this guy at all!
While watching the game and how physical Everton started to get it did remind me of the clough film dammed United, where clough played a first team before a Europe game against Leeds and Leeds crooked the whole team.... Maybe that is why no martintelli and was late with the subs
That game summed our season up so far. Dominated possession, created very few chances and then shot ourselves in the foot with a calamitous error. Depressing
This has to be the worst Arsenal side of the last 40 years. I just wish they would all leave, seriously. I would keep maybe 4 or 5 players out of this lot. The rest can disappear along with this pathetic excuse of a manager. And while they're at it, the owners and the board can do one as well. Burn the whole thing down and start again. We're going nowhere.
Do you really think we this bad? Maybe, I dont get it.. However, Auba, Laca, Pepe, Martinelli, Sake, ESR, Partey, Gabriel, Mari, Xhaka and maybe Leno...
Another insipid performance where we dominate the ball, but don't create enough and then lose the game through utter stupidity. Arteta saying after the game it's unacceptable to be where we are in the league. This is Groundhog Day... Everything absolutely rests on the Europa League now. But if he doesn't win that, I see no reason to keep him on. How could the board possibly justify keeping a manager who has us in mid table, with no European football and playing the worst football since the latter days of Emery's tenure? My own view is, regardless of whether he wins the EL or not, we should be looking for a new manager. This is what an ambitious club would do.
