Agree it will come back to if we want mid table or something better? If this is true and he does go then I don’t want to hear another word from our board about getting young talent in a building a team to challenge.
Could prove to be a solid addition’ – QPR keeping tabs on Sheffield Wednesday man: The verdict HOME QPR please log in to view this image [img This article is part of Football League World’s ‘The Verdict’ series, which provides personal opinions from the FLW writers regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more Queens Park Rangers are keeping tabs on Sheffield Wednesday defender Matt Penney, according to the Sheffield Star. , QPR have identified Penney as a potential target ahead of the summer transfer window. George Dagless Jury’s out. What does go for this move is that he’s obviously available on a free and has potential with him just 23, so Mark Warburton will feel he can mould him into the sort of player he wants. He’s versatile so could play in the wing-back or full-back roles required by Warburton depending on what system he wants to use and, indeed, with Todd Kane dropping out of favour and, you never know, potentially heading for the exit, there could be room for Penney to challenge Osman Kakay. It’s worth a punt I would suggest, given it’s low cost, and Penney will then need to rise to the challenge. Ned Holmes I really like this move from a QPR perspective. Mark Warburton has added some talented young players in recent windows and the signing of Penney would allow him to continue to do just that. Full-back is a position that the R’s could add some quality to, in my eyes, and snapping up the 23-year-old on a free transfer could be a really shrewd move. Money is likely to be tight this summer, so moves like this could be vital.
Thinks Warbs has done enough for a new deal. Not a foregone conclusion re signing Field permanently, needed to start 12 games for it to be in our hands. West Brom have a year option on Austin. 1 year extension for Wallace, good news.
If they want to keep Field, they should have made sure he started the 12 games. I've been surprised that he's been on the bench for the last few games.
He’s looked really good but he’s never played close to a full season so I think they’re just managing him, like they had to with Willock for a bit.

Wallace set to sign one year extension apparently. I'd keep them all i think, I'd like to see Carroll given another year. Don't know anything about Owens, at 23 is it likely he'll ever break into the first team?
de Wijs is a bit of a worry with regard to injuries; hopefully our medical team have had enough time with him to make a thorough assessment towards making a decision on keeping him or not. An interesting post-season ahead for us for sure. I’d like to think there are a few options for wing back(s) already on file.
De Wisj has injury problems...so will leave that to club to decide. No one will come to buy Owens, who is cheap and has huge potential if injuries permit....again another for the club ..sounds like another cheap no brained to me Sign Wallace, let Cameron go. Sell Lumley and Kelly in the GK front.. We have Dieng, Walsh and Boronowski. Sell Haamalain and Kane ( for 15 million please!!! ) Get Field and DeWisj and if possible Johansen. Austin do not care so much. We need to be a right WB with classand loan a CF
Not a transfer rumour more an update on BOS. Former Queens Park Rangers star Bright Osayi-Samuel was omitted from the Fenerbahce squad in their 3-2 win against Kasimpasa at the Ulker Stadyumu Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Spor Kompleksi on Sunday evening. According to Turkish sports daily Fanatik, the Nigerian-born winger was removed from the squad after picking up an injury in the final training session ahead of the matchday 37 fixture. Osayi-Samuel arrived the Yellow Canaries in the winter transfer market, signing a four-and-a-half-year deal until the end of the 2024-2025 campaign. The 23-year-old has enjoyed a far from ideal start to his Fenerbahce career in terms of his goal contributions, a goal and an assist to his name after fourteen games. And he has seemingly lost his spot in the starting lineup, making only one start in his last three league appearances, having started the previous nine. Following their win, Fenerbahce are three points behind league leaders Besiktas.
Johansen is a must for me, whether it's possible though? I'd also keep Carroll. Similar with Austin, much as Dykes has been brilliant recently he still went 20 odd? 30 odd? games without a goal and no way on this Earth do I think Bonne can step up if a similar barren spell happens. Yeah Niko needs to go and there is no way our fanbase will accept Kane now, despite being our second best full back.
Not too fussed about Carroll and think we're a better team without him. The team should be built around Johansen if we can get him to stay.
I think we're in for an interesting summer. Logic would suggest the board will continue to try and do sensible business and focus on players with re-sale value (Sam Field fits this category perfectly). Our encouraging 2021 form however, may put a spanner in the works. Have the board realised that the Championship for the most part is very wide open and a promotion/Play off push not out of the question? Barnsley living proof it can be done. Big decision to make on whether they stick to their sustainable plan or go for it...
