"Keep The Faith"...... And let's have the greatest singing of 'wise men say' that 10,000 fans can possibly sing. Let's show our owner what he's really bought on Saturday.
Exactly, half time. Up and at em for the second half and we still have a chance. There will be change whatever the outcome, as we have an owner who is passionate and enthusiastic and wants success. We KTF, have a warm glow remembering 6-in-a-row, oh yes and FTM
Both of those clearance headers were weak and pathetic (Wright & Power). Get ya feffin boot through it maybe not Wright's but Power should have put his laces through it. I thought that Power and Jones looked like they'd played everyday since the last game. Jones look as though his legs wanted to do one thing and his brain wanted another, something akin to myself on a pitch at the ripe old age of 48!!! Also what was with that pitch it looks as though we were wearing school shoes as we were slipping everywhere, I saw Bridcutt replacing divots. Had that pitch just been laid? And the last thing WTF was the air raid siren going off at the corners!!! Embarrassing.
This all day long. Power is less mobile than O'Nien and also slows down our attacking play, also O'Nien is hungrier for goals and gets in better goalscoring positions.
My make-shift back four would be. O'Nien - Younger - Wright - McFadzean I wouldn't have Power anywhere near that right-back postition as that young Lincoln winger flew past him on a number of occasions.
Absolutely. There's no reason at all we can't beat them by 2 goals at home. If you lose the first (away) leg of a playoff game 0-1, you go home thinking that you're still in with a chance, so a 0-2 you cannot rule anything out. To do that, the players need to show more hunger and we need at least one attacking player to offer something similar to McGeady. A reshuffle at the back is probably needed but bringing u23 players in to a high pressure game like could be a disaster both in terms of the result and their future careers. However, even if we don't go up, its not the domesday scenario it might have been under Donald. We are at the very start of a massive rebuilding process and by the time next season comes around I expect us to be a very different side.
Maybe. I don't see that matters much though. We go up and rebuild in the Championship or we go up next season with a better team. The second option might actually be better in the longer term.
I agree with most of that except the bringing under 23s in could ruin their career, why are we always looking for the negatives. Young players now have no fear and at youngers age he is ready for it, let be positive and believe in our young kids and give them a chance to show what they can do
Totally agree mate one season building a proper team with most of these rubbish players binned will give us a much better chance in the future IMO.
Depends on the individual I think, some are more able to cope than others. If it wasn't such a high pressure game I'd agree with you but I think chucking them in to this is a gamble. The way team selections have gone, especially at the back, there has to be some reason why they haven't been allowed to make the step up and the most obvious one is that their coaches don't think they're ready. With last night's centre back pairing being so error prone it is tempting to just give them a go.
Thing is though, the coaches might be advising that they aren't ready but the first team players aren't coping or getting results. At least hoying a few young players in gives us a bit more pace, aggression, freshness. If we stick with the same team against Lincoln I really don't see us scoring three and keeping a clean sheet. Tweaking things by playing Winchester instead of Scowen or Leadbitter instead of Power isn't going to cut it. It probably is unwise to change too much and play too many young players at this point but that's on Johnson, they should have been tried already because we've been slipping for ages with no sign of it turning around. Tried is the operative word. Should have been having them on the bench and giving them half an hour here and there. If they're crap at least we tried it.
Asking this team of players that's out of contract in June to get us promoted is like the bailiffs telling you you're getting evicted next week but give the place a lick of paint before you go.
Last night I was thinking a bet on 1-2 or 0-2 for saturday, maybe a cash win to alleviate the pain. This morning, I'm thinking in the history of football 2 leg system, there must be 100s if not 1000s of 2 goal deficits being overturned --- so why not us ? Of course we can. Doesn't this club have an incredible ability to keep us in the hope, in the belief.
I think we do need to change something. Especially up front and that's where we've got players, like Diamond, on the fringes. I think chucking in a totally untested centre back is a huge risk. Its Catch 22 because we do need to change something there. Should Johnson have tried Younger and Almond earlier in the season? Maybe, but the use of makeshift defenders makes me think they must have been nowhere near ready.
