Sure. I will too. This Europa Cup will not really change the team or the status of the club but will definitely change other people’s perception of him.

But I doubt whether any outcome will change anything in terms of next season’s management. He’ll be in place but like Chief said success next season will also depend on whether we get 2 or 3 top players in.

    Simeone only viable choice imo.

Ole deserves another season though, especially if we win the EL, which we should.

It's the UEFA Cup ffs, no idea why anyone would sneer at that?

Arsenal, Spurs, Leicester, West Ham, Everton and whoever loses between City and Chelsea would kill to win the UEFA Cup this season, simple as that.

As would every other team bar Liverpool, but then give them another season of decline and they'll be less high and mighty about it as well.

Believe me, Simeone's antics and attitude wouldn't last two months in the PL, He's a good fit here in Spain where he can get away with it - but not a good fit for the PL and certainly not for us. Yes, he's up there challenging for the La Liga, but La Liga is nowhere near as competitive as the PL. Take the top three teams out and you are basically left with the Scottish PL.

The problem we have on here is that some posters vastly over rate some of our players and blame the manager/coach for their limitations.

And we take CL qualification for granted.

When we have the likes of Tuchel, Rodgers Klopp et al struggling to get CL. I am not saying we should celebrate CL qualification (like the RS will do this weekend as their greatest achievement <laugh> How’s the mighty fallen ! ) but it is a milestone especially it was practically achieved weeks before the end of the season.

The irony is that had we been fighting with Tuchel and Klopp these “great” and over hyped managers for CL on the last day and won, his image would have been enhanced in the eyes of some here.

I personally don’t give a sht who’s fighting to be in the Champions League. The critical data points suggest that we gave away the league from a leading position in what has been a historically a weak season across the board. We got kicked out of Champions league group stages, again from a leading position. We gave up so many points at home and made up all sorts of excuses why… including colour of the seats and boards, lack of crowd, protesters, return of the crowd and perhaps bad match day breakfasts.

I know for a fact that many of you have no confidence that we will win the league under Ole. If you find yourself in that bucket, anything else that you say here is ultimately advocating for the mediocrity to continue.

I guess trophies are for the egos.

    Bruno speaking…

‘We lost four points when we were still in first place against Sheffield United and West Bromwich Albion, and it was four points that made the difference for City to come close and overtake us as well.

‘This made us understand that we have to be focused and realise that all the matches are going to be tough and important for us to keep fighting for titles.

‘That’s where we failed, especially in January, which was our worst moment when we could have boosted our advantage over City, which didn’t happen.

‘Manchester City, rightfully, ended up overtaking us and managing to lead us by many points.’

    —-

Make no mistake, this season was a massive missed opportunity because Ole simply didn’t have the tactical knowledge to setup the team to get us results when it mattered, especially against teams that were set out to defend.

To think that we went from being so far ahead to finishing a distant second place should be looked at from that perspective and that perspective alone - a frail mentality leading to failure. Anything else is criminal! Especially patting ourselves on the back for finishing second as others struggle to qualify for top four.

Bad memory though as it was actually five points we pissed away in those two games.

If you add the 2 we spunked by not trying to beat Arsenal, and another 2 when we threw away a two goal lead against Everton for **** sake, it was actually nine points in that period, when we really should have been hammering home our advantage.

We won't get carried away though, oh no. City are awesome and that.

All of the above was the players fault, obvs.

of course. Unless we come first , the manager is rubbish and should be sacked. That’s the “winning” mentality we should all adopt. Because we are United and the title is our God given right. Never mind that the next manager might turn out to be another Arteta and struggling to get into the Europa conference league <laugh>

The fact that he took us to that opportunity should obviously be completely ignored.

Any one but Ole. The potential destruction of player and team morale by the new manager or finishing in 10th is either unimportant or would never happen. Why? Because we are Man United and success is guaranteed no matter who the new manager is.

Man United fans in the vast majority support Ole and he will stay for the next season. Those dreaming of a new manager are living in cloud cuckoo land as it won’t happen just yet.

The fact that, for some, Ole is seen as useless but no alternative is even offered up for reasoned debate is quite telling. If there is a messiah out there - someone call out his name, we're all grown-ups, we can discuss the pros and cons of potential replacements, but this endless petty scabbing at Ole when he's going to be with us for at least another season is, frankly, ridiculous. Get the **** behind the manager, come back at us Ole fans with your 20/20 hindsight if it all goes wrong, but stick with the guy. All that can be done in the next twelve months is transfers in or out - can't we focus on that......

Title is absolutely not our God given right.

HOWEVER, it is ingrained into the club’s culture to never settle for second best. To never celebrate coming second.

Reading what Bruno expects of the team and of himself, I wish Ole would be that assertive.

No one here as far as I can understand is celebrating second. But it is rather surprising that some just a few mind are calling for him to be sacked for coming second.

I’m reaffirming that Ole is simply not good enough to take Manchester United to the next level.

Whenever rival teams celebrate us for keeping our manager in place at any moment in time, you know that there is something wrong with the setup.

This is your sincerely held conviction I have no doubt. But so is the conviction of most United fans who hold the opposite view.
