    Depends on Wednesday really.

If we win that, fine, it's been decent with clear improvement in most areas.

If we don't though, I'll question how the **** we managed to get knocked out of the CL group stage in a competition that Chelsea have reached the final of ffs!

Losing to Leicester so weakly in the FA cup was not good, not great game management at all.

Throwing away 7 points from 12 in January/February when top is not good management either.

I don't celebrate 2nd so we have to win on Wednesday, otherwise it's been marginally better than the last couple of years and not much more.

One thing now though; next season is his third full season. He's bought well and (I assume) will be backed this summer. He's there to be shot at, we need to be challenging, no more ****ing excuses.

If he says once in a presser that we're not quite there and won't get carried away, he will deserved to be sacked just for that.

The worst trait of this team has been dropping points or losing when they are overwhelming favourites. Beating teams against the odds e.g PSG or City in their own backyards is great but we have not been good enough against the so called smaller teams especially at home.

Winning the Europa final is not a given and I think he’d do well to win it against a seasoned team and manager. I’d almost preferred it if we were underdogs.

We need that 20 -25 goal scorer in the Cole, RVN, RVP, Rooney mould. But how he fits in within the team and his attitude is as important as his previous record.

The top 5 managers of the season (Guardian 23/5/21). The other 4 are Pep, Bielsa, Moyes and Rodgers. Mostly agree with the assessment.

    ————————————

    Ole Gunnar Solskjær

Of the five selected here, this is the most controversial choice. But an equation of reputation times achievement, divided by club expectation, still arrives at the sum total of a manager finishing second and reaching a European final having a good season, particularly considering where United were in the early months of 2020.

Manchester United are not yet Real Madrid, a club for whom such achievements would be considered grounds for the sack. Solskjær is popular among fans, grants licence for the likes of Bruno Fernandes to express themselves, and his status as a club legend long before he started picking the team also keeps him relatively secure.

To say he is the best post-Ferguson Manchester United manager is not much of an accolade considering his predecessors’ failures but it is true. The tough question is how he might now compete with Guardiola.

Nothing much to add to what's been said already. Largely agree with the comments. In short, where we've performed we've done what we should expect, where we've underachieved we've been found wanting and need to improve on.

The highlights are without doubt our away performance/results and reaching the Europa final, Bruno and Cavani. Overall I'd consider the season (any season tbf) a good one if we win a trophy.

After tomorrow I'll be looking forward to the way we conduct ourselves in the transfer window and focus on the players we bring in.
