He offered the Chairman of FC the chance to run it with him. But the council wanted a £2 million bond. Because of AP's mate he could come up with all of the money but FC's chairman, didn't have the money needed for his half.

Is strange that it's being openly reported if that's not the case.

Not a hope of fan representation at Board level.

Swansea had a fan representative on the main board. The first he knew of the sale was reading about it in the paper, like every other fan. Well, all, except the main investors who while also being fans had stumped up the money to buy the club and made a handsome profit. Convening a board meeting with a fan in attendance would reduce it to little more than a fans liaison group session. Or, interspersed with the nitty gritty of running the business, a sideshow of fork pies and mirrors.

I wouldn't expect any fan representative/s to be advised of any impending sale/purchase, which would be managed through an NDA anyway. Any fan representation at board level of any football club could not be full time attendance, it just wouldn't work. Personally believe more fan involvement will happen going forwards in football generally (The Big Six are making all the right noises post the fiasco of The Euro Super League), but as ever, with varying levels of effectiveness and some clubs simply paying lip service, unfortunately.

I fully support fan engagement, but not at the board level. A Club can't be run by a committee any more than a team can, especially if some members are not fully experienced in the particular areas.

Another issue as I see it, is that many fans want to just turn up, enjoy the day as a bit of escapism, and then go home/to pub. They don't want the extra hassle of deciding and discussing the technicalities, any more than a theatre or cinema goer would. That leaves fans groups tending to be populated by people that enjoy that sort of thing, which can often be the thing that sets them apart from other fans.

Where I see a resolution, would be some clarity, albeit in very broad terms, on which parts of the ground are for which type of fan, such as family groups, sit quiet, noisy etc. and then for the club to set up some form of system, which could initially be a simple suggestion box or email account, where comments could be made for each specific area, with feedback posted in prominent places, including any rejections or timescales for resolutions.

It's conceivable that a 'spokesperson(s) for each area would naturally evolve.

They now have those ottoman beds that flip up and have storage below. I’m not keen, one night the bugger might flip up when I’m asleep, mind you at 17 and a half stone it’s probably unlikely lol

Agreed, the purpose of a committee is to spread the blame

As someone once said - a camel is a horse designed by a committee.

It's great to speculate and will likely get us to 1000 quicker, but I aren't convinced about this deal yet.
All we have is that he has stated he wants to buy an English club and that Enob has 'followed' him on Instagram. Surely even Enob would realise that as soon he follows, this is very much in the public domain. Any such deal would be extremely confidential, why would he risk that?
Either to let the media create a story to appease the fan base or use to try to drum up a sale.

Unless those in the know have heard anything? Is it a USA/Turkish consortium :emoticon-0105-wink:
