Amazing political statement, from a truly great man, one who could have united Europe imo.

In voted remain despite wanting to leave. Can't trust the Tories to do the simple things right let alone something as huge as this. they were aways going to **** this up and lie through their teeth while doing it and that's exactly what's happened.

There’s a reason for that! I know if there was another vote I would be voting exactly the same.

That's what all of parliament was banking on, and why they then tried all and any means to overturn the result. We could have had a far more sensible, cross party approach to the whole thing but remain MPs went all in on remaining and nothing else, which allowed the fringe elements to gain far more power than they otherwise would have just to get it done.

Forcing responsibility for their own actions back upon them, as opposed to the smirking shrug of 'EU Law, nothing I can do', will benefit us hugely in the long run. Now we have to start on our own useless shirkers and bullshitters.

The whole Brexit thing could not have come at a worse time for UK politics. A Tory party so utterly divided and without any kind of direction and focus which ultimately looked to Boris Johnson as he was clearly the most "populist" leader they had available. Sadly for the Labour party it was and is (at the moment) without any kind of credibility ....what the country needed at the time was strong leadership from the Start, something Cameron didn't have and this should have been made accountable by a credible opposition...again completely missing. To have an argument won to leave the EU fronted by Johnson and Gove speaks volumes to me....With very strong leaders, the UK could and should have stayed and made the EU much more accountable and transparent with certain Law remaining in the Sovereign Governments for the various members...We now have a situation that will cost tens of thousands of jobs and sadly those who voted to leave will suffer the most

What you mean like Trump in the USA putting pressure on big conglomerates to stop offshoring production and bring it back to USA?

And it's rumoured that Nissan is looking at building a new Electric Battery Manufacturing Faccility on it's existing site a Washington.

Nothing concrete yet, according to BBC Newcastle, but the 'fact' that this is even being considered underlines that lies are not ONLY the province of The Tory Party.
Our local MP's, with monotonous regularity, told us that if we left, Nissan would move all it's manufacturing to Europe and close their Washington Plant.

Oh for the days when we had Chris Mullins for our MP.
Of course to ballance him we had the total opposite in Bill Etherington.

Read an article on that the other week, apparently it all comes down to how much the UK Government is prepared to fund the initial investment. Nissan are very good at obtaining state support.

However if it goes ahead it will give us two major battery manufacturing sites in the NE the other being in Blyth which can only be a good thing

Suggested read mate.. the European Economic Community Act 1973, a document signed by Ted Heath for the UK to join the community (Not union). I was allowed to vote whether to joining or not back then and remember quite clearly read the paraphernalia that was produced stating the benefits of joining and at that time, free trade and movement between European countries seemed a very sensible idea, that document has a small innocuous section, one that was never mentioned during the run upon to the vote by any party.. The section states quite clearly, moving to a Monetary and Fiscal Union. In essence, the process to a single currency for all member states.. I only found this out when the leave campaign began back in 1993 and seeing the document at the National Archives in 2016.. My own experiences from working in Europe gave me a fascinating incite into how member states used the system, Germany in particular back in 1997 after the wall came down. the rebuilding. The amount of funding available to the German state (not just the German state) by the EU was obscene imo. My Back ground is Aviation and one part of my role was to implement a new, state of the art maintenance facility at an Airport in the Black Forest region... The Company I was employed by was given Millions and I mean Millions to build the facility and to retrain personnel ex DDR air force. Yes, I've seen first hand just how the EU look after their own.

People will generally buy what's most convenient and value for money ...

... they'll 'Buy British' by ordering imported shyte from Amazon, on a Chinese laptop, then think they're being patriotic.
