Pogba is at his peak, Ronaldo is 35+. I don't see it as a valid swap?

Juve could thrown in Ramsey though and that would be a decent deal.

Straight swap if they want Pogba, we should be asking for De Ligt.

Pogba looks like a goner. His ruthless agent wants an astronomical renewed contract or he’s running it down to a free next year. We’ve not been too lucky with Netherlands players have we? VdB, and Depay - have not actually fitted although both very good players.

Can we really justify paying Pogba a huge salary when we get ten decent performances a season out of him and the rest of the time we are forced to play him justin case 'he turns it on' , when invariable he doesn't. For me he is the single most overrated football player ever but he seems to be able to carry off this 'emperor's new clothes' style aura when all he does is score a handful and bang in half a dozen decent passes in a season. I would rather have CR banging in 20 goals a season, chopping and changing with Cavani, and then we've have a decent shot at winning something. Having Pogba in the side impacts elsewhere, when he's on the left it affects Rashford, when he plays deep he is a liability as he is the most dispossessed player in the PL. Get something for him now, be it cash or a swap deal otherwise we'll be looking at him and his fat pig agent taking the piss as he leaves on a free.

I’ll take Grealish for pogba anytime. Although I’m not so sure with Grealish in the middle or as a holding MF. But he’ll provide an additional creative influence to unlock these stubborn defences.

Due to the recent lording of Grealish i accept i am probably wrong on this but i really don't rate him.

He is a "busy" player yet has very little impact for the amount of time he has on the ball, he falls over a lot but from what i can see that's because he has the impression he can carry the ball past 3 oppo players at a time.

You could be right but I love the fact he does try and carry the ball past 3 players. I wouldn't even call it that. I'd say it's more the fact he drives at the opposition and is not afraid to take players on.

There was a time when players did that as a given. Now it's all about passing and working the space. That has its place, but when your whole game relies upon this, it means you end up playing negative/limited/inhibited football. United have fallen into that. It literally saps the skill of good players who are told not to do it and almost have it coached out of them.

This is what makes the difference between a great player and a player that thinks he is great.
You have to know when to drive on and when to release the ball.

Yeh but it's still better than being afraid to take on players altogether.

True, let's pay a fortune for Grealish then, at least we can say he tried after every game :bandit:

yeah, he's the kind of player who can have half the opposition team concentrating on not letting hi get space to do anything, but still make himself enough space to do something.

Exactly... but he'll need a player like Declan Rice beside him. May need to get both <whistle>

Can't see your owners stumping up the 1/4b it'll cost to get them, both players love their clubs and don't seem the sort to do the dirty.

He is a latent piss head - look back to his antics early doors when he trashed his car and was snapped in ****ing slippers and dressing gown. Give him elevated status and more money and you will see more of the same - there is something of the boozy Georgie Best about him without him having an ounce of the talent to go with it. Let City buy him, let's go for Rice..

In all seriousness I think Declan would move to another club. Grealish maybe next summer.

Interesting article today in the Express on the impact of likely Sancho signing on Greenwood. This has been a concern for me and the reason why I personally question the signing if it is not just another luxury signing that may not solve our problems. I like Sancho but not at the expense of Greenwood. I also feel that Bruno already does a lot of what Sancho will bring in form of creating chances a lot of usually comes from playing by cutting into the middle.

Greenwood, at 19, should be getting more game time to continue his momentum. I don't buy the idea that he's still too young to be a starter. I hope that he continues to get game time even if Sancho comes in. It would mean that Greenwood is likely to go back into contention for central forward and juggle that role with Cavani, or perhaps Sancho too given the number of games through the season.

First Euros game out of the way so tomorrow's papers will have us chasing Phillips and Mings (Phillips did look useful tbh).

Not sure what benefit there was in omitting Shaw to allow Tripper to play on the left, especially as Walker had a bad game.....

    Read this today:

Dalot is an excellent dribbler of the ball, with great delivery and good pace which allows him to beat opposition players in one-on-one situations. His main issue is that defensively he can be quite weak. His concentration often lapses and his positioning is wayward, but these are things that with coaching can be improved upon.

The question is, do we have the right setup to make players better through coaching?

It’s painful seeing so many of these young talents move on only for them to become far better elsewhere.
