An excellent tune. It came on the radio a couple of days ago and....gulp. Those lines.. "Everything goes when you're dead, Everything empties from what was in your head" ...are a real kicker. Unfortunately, my mum's now completely unable to recognise who I am. Her head's now completely empty and she's not even close to dying. Seize every day kids. It doesn't last forever and you're gone for good.
It's a great song for sure, by a great band - And I liked your post on that basis - the last line resonates with me too As for the middle line I can't imagine how hard that is to cope with
So true mate , I had a very close friend who suffered a devastating stroke, after every visit I would sit in my car and cry like a baby and wish it to be over for him , luckily he didn't last more than a couple of weeks but if you knew him you would have known what hell he was going through, this was a man who loved his sport, food and wine, travel, debate and the family, a room would light up when he entered either because of his character or he had set fire to it Enjoy it while you can people
Avoiding the National and club football songs here are some of mine where football or teams get a mention
Although its been shown before, Paul Weller's concert at the Barbican is showing again on BBC2 tonight, well worth another watch
It's on the iPlayer for the next 11 months, if anyone wants to watch it at another time: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000x9rb/paul-weller-live-at-the-barbican
That Weller concert is amazing, I know that my love of his music is well known so I am biased, but these arrangements are just fantastic.
