I don't think we will this year, it may well be totally different this time next season if they perform well in the champ
No I don’t but plenty gave him a lot of praise At the time before Xmas and he showed it in flashes He had pace and was tricky and he obviously had potential or Everton wouldn’t have bought him but he lost it badly His decision making got worse and worse And like most of the Rest he was terrible after January before getting injured Why do you think Everton signed him? He may have a great season or he may drift out of the game
If they have a good season, it will be hard to turn down the kinds of offers we'll get for two young English lads who just played well in the Championship. I couldn't really begrudge them a move if that was the case, as nice as it is to have homegrown talent in the side, it's just as nice to see homegrown talent making great progress and playing at a higher level. That being said, I'd still reject any moves in January simply because of the effect such a move had when we sold Bowen and Grosicki.
Well lets all hope that JG and KLP and indeed others shine bright enough in the Championship to warrant significant offers as and when...
I note that City's former Chelsea loanee Fikayo Tomori has been signed by AC Milan for a £24m fee. I reckon this must the second highest fee paid for an ex-Tiger, behind the £80m paid by Manchester United for Harry Maguire. At the time both players were at City, I doubt many foresaw that they would attract the two biggest fees ever for ex-Tigers.
Got to agree. Thought his trajectory would have been downwards after leaving us. Then again he was playing in a slutski team that was hardly focused on defending
My daughter is moving to Spain and my grandson found this as he cleared out his bedroom. I wonder how many of these players we’d have in today’s team,
We definitely still need another wide player. Randell replaces Whyte, Moncur replaces Crowley but I'm pretty certain Scott and Mayer will both move on so we need another one ideally. There were games last year when we had a couple of forwards out and we were really short and had nothing on the bench. Gomes at £500k is crazy value
In terms of wide players, we've got Wilks, KLP, Moncur, Scott, Mayer, Williams and Samuelsen, with Billy Chadwick and Ahmed Salam in the reserves. If two of those leave, then yeah fair play some cover would be useful, but it's not certain that they will and they might have a decent pre season. Mayer didn't get one before and he's got a lot to prove. Don't get me wrong, I'd take Gomes, but I don't think we'll move for him unless we absolutely had to.
