This was incredibly predictable and Southgate's made this a tough choice by leaving Ward-Prowse out of the squad. Anyone else is playing a little out of position there, though some of them might be able to adapt to playing that role. There's nobody dictating the pace of the game or building things through the midfield. Taking off Kane was fine and Sterling should've gone with him, but why bring on Rashford in those circumstances? Surely Calvert-Lewin's physicality and aerial presence was more use against an organised, deep back-line? There wasn't any space for Rashford to exploit with his pace and nobody deep was playing anything other than simple, safe passes. That resulted in Grealish getting it miles away from their goal and earning pointless free-kicks.
As Grealish is reportedly the most fouled against player in the prem and as soon as he came on last night he was fouled just outside the box leaving out Ward Prowse might come back to haunt us but we will never know
Not happy with the England display.More sideways, backwards football again. Poor Harry looks like he's shot his bolt.Needs to sit on the beach for a month or two. Some hopes!!!
Ger v Por Great example of why i dont like Portugese football. Team full of huge talent and they play defensive football. GERMANY playing exciting attacking football. So why are we not talking about Klinsman as manager?
The draw looks a good bet for Tuesday with the game being on ITV. We have drawn 7 of the last 10 group matches that we have played in tournaments covered by them. We have only won 1 tournament group match on ITV since 1992. Our record on the BBC since 2010 is played 7 won 6. I realise that this makes no sense but its true.
Can never write them off. Don’t think they’ll win it but if England win the group and play them then I won’t be confident at all
The BBC pundits are saying how difficult it must be for Lewandowski without the service to him ............never heard a peep last night though
Have you noticed how Lewedowski is constantly moving and creating passing oppertunities? The pundits obviously have
