Hartlepool beat Torquay 5-4 on penalties after O/T to get back into the FL.

Torquay's keeper heads an equalizer in the 90+5 mins to go into extra-time.

Not quite the story of the game I watched. Torquay were robbed by a Ref who disallowed 2 perfectly good goals. For the life of me I cannot see what he saw wrong with either of them. We won't even talk about possible penalties either. It should never have got to extra time let alone penalty shoot out. Brilliant header by the keeper by the way and every bit as good as the Liverpool one.

The first league games won't be for best part of two months and a lot can happen but I'm guessing it won't be full capacity but I'd hope at least all the season ticket holders can get in.

It seems Wembley will be moving up to about 50% capacity by the end of the Euros so if that's a benchmark, it would mean about 9,000 at Home Park. Can all League 1 and 2 clubs be trusted to manage things as well as Wembley? I believe PAFC could but going by the various Covid outbreaks at other clubs, I'm not to sure about the rest, so maybe it will be less.

Will there be away fans? I think it would be sensible to say no: it's a lot of extra cost for PAFC (and clubs like us) when at times, it's just one almost full coach that turns up: the stadium may be open air but the coaches and trains aren't: we don't want people moving from high infection areas to low especially if there are variants about and enforcing rules amongst your own fans is one thing, away fans are another. Will this government do the sensible thing? Probably not, far more likely to run scared of its rabid right wing and the Daily Mail.

Boris couldn't do the right thing if you cut off both his left arm and leg. Saw him on the News tonight at a vaccination place doing elbow pumps with the people there. I would definitely not allow him to use me in his opportunistic photo shoot. Why is he there when his presence brings no assistance to any of the proceedings. They should not even allow him in. They wouldn't let in you or me if we weren't getting jabbed. I just want somebody to knuckle him on camera.

There will be 16 players including our three new defenders on the books for the start of pre-season training....Macauley Gillesphey coming back from Australia will be given a week off....his season has only recently come to an end....so his fitness levels should be quite good.

Any more new signings will of course be doing catch-up on training.....which can be a problem as the seasons friendlies get nearer....and then the start of the season of course.....which is not ideal.

Of the released players.....Will Aimson has joined Bolton.....Ben Reeves has joined Gillingham.....Frank Nouble has joined Colchester and Jack Ruddy has joined Linfield.

At present as far as I know.....Byron Moore, Jarvis Cleal, Rubin Wilson, Scott Wootton and Lewis Macleod have not as yet found new clubs

EFL sponsors Sky Bet have.....Sunderland (of course)...at odds of 7-1.....Sheffield Wednesday...8-1.....Charlton and Ipswich both at 9-1 to win the league.

Argyle are at odds of 28-1 to win the league.

Yes ...I've been reading about it on the clubs website.....cannot be worse than some of the ifollow link ups I had last season......only seems to work well when we're getting a thrashing.....I could literally hear it cackling at me.....a mind of it's own.

Six week break....That's what the website has been saying.....plus the league matches announced tomorrow.....plus some of the mickey mouse competitions announced as well.

Gillesphey allowed another week because of the Aussie season only finishing recently.....and of course his fitness levels should be quite good because of that.

Latest news is that we are about to sign Callum Burton 6ft 2in....24year old goalkeeper who has recently been at Cambridge helping them gain promotion.....he took over from their No1 keeper half-way through the season when an injury to their first choice allowed him to play the rest of the season......could be a challenge for Mike Cooper to retain the jersey.
