Talking of travels, electronic scooters are being brought onto all forms of public transport. They take up space and are a pain in the bottom
I know you sent me a couple of messages Elfs. Perhaps I mistakenly thought at least one of them contained photos from a recent footy expedition. Was going to download them onto my PC and post them presently - apologies if I've made a mistake. That'll teach me to open things people send me rather than make assumptions about the contents (correct me if I'm wrong)
Apologies for the earlier confusion folks. The WhatsApp on my phone enjoys playing tricks on me. It told me I had two new messages from Elfs - one regarding a numpty bloke who was quite rightly jailed for not wearing a mask on the train (in Singapore - he's a Brit with a bee in his bonnet about masks. I don't like them either, but I don't break the law over them) The other message I assumed (without actually opening it) concerning a non-league footy outing. This second 'new' message turned out to be one I had already downloaded and posted here. Mobile phone technology drives me crazy sometimes - as do the annoying adverts for them. Some of the latest phones can cost not far off £100 a month just to rent, and with contracts of two or three years. Seems absolutely insane to me, but lots of youngsters I understand simply must have the latest gadget. So apologies Elfs for not checking carefully enough what you'd sent me And by the way; If you have been to a ground some time earlier this year to see a game, but cannot find any reference to it in the more recent pages on this thread - please send me the pics again and I'll post them. It's quite possible I may have accidentally lost or deleted pics from one or two fixtures.
I pay £27 for my Samsung A50, unlimited data, minutes and messages. Perfect. Wtf do people need to change every 12 months spending LOTS of dough on the latest model?
2021-22 Saturday 24th July pre-season friendly; Stotfold 0-1 Biggleswade Ticket (concession) ... £3 Beer (1 round) ... £8 Coffee ... £1.50 Total outlay ... £12.50 Attendance: 200 That's a decent looking ground...
to our wonderful Moderator. Stotfold have a great little ground for this level, this being their second season after selling up for redevelopment to flats. A shame as the old Roker Park was a cracker. Today had lots of trialists and the game was won from a through ball which the striker ran onto and slid home very Darren Bentesque.
Saturday 31st July Takeley 1-0 West Essex K.O 3pm ESSEX SENIOR LEAGUE (Premier Division) Ticket ... £7 Full Price! (includes programme) Badge ... £5 Coffee ... £1 Total outlay ... £13.00 Attendance: 70 (official count 127) .....
I wasvreading the FA Cup results on Sunday. A few familiar names in there at such an early stage. Northwich stuck out - remember 'that' afternoon. But there were some great tiny club names too. Elfs you have a lot of groundhopping still to do. You going to hop into the Valley at some stage?
Northwich, one of THE most depressing days in our history, we should have lost by a lot more. I'm back to going, the 21st August is eagerly awaited. In the meantime, Risborough Rangers v Broadfield this Saturday
@lardiman "we love you". Fortunately I was given a lift for this one, a village outside of Bishops Stortford was not seeing many buses. A good game that would have seen more goals but for the performance of the West Essex keeper.
