He is leaving because he has to prepare for the Olympic Games. He is going to race in Mountain Bike. He had already said so. Enric Mas has crashed and has leg and side injuries but he is still in the top group. We'll see if he can make it to the end.
O‘Connor with the virtual yellow jersey - who would have thought that? Could be an inspired pick Stick
Kicking myself here Odddy as I backed Higuita yesterday! I am shaking with fear just watching this lad descend in the wet!
Taken their foot off the gas? Some ride from O’Connor this - out on his own whereas Pogacar has the team helpers
German commentators suggesting Ineos are looking to drag Pogacar up the hill to keep him in yellow and keep the pressure on him after the rest day. Seems a bit weird but there you go.
Awesome ride Ben O’Connor Pogacar looks like he’ll take another minute out of the field on the last ascent
two poor days for my betting, with the daily bets losing and the early bets looking awful! 10pt staked 14.2pt returned Hopefully get a chance tomorrow to post my week one views, but its been a wild race so far and hopefully a rest day will give them all time to recover and regroup for week 2. The second week looks a good one for the sprinters if all goes well. Apart from a massive mountain stage and another classic sort of test!
They put a lot of effort into keeping Cavendish in the race today and I take that as a signal of intent that without Ewan and Sagan a bit banged up they are eyeing the Tour Stage Career win record with the piece de resistance being the Flyer coming up the Champs Elysee whilst Pogacar quaffs champagne in the pack. Good day for me today with the winner at 16/1 and a good week for this forums TDF followers overall.
sponger I am going to have an each way on Mads Pedersen as well. The problem with this stage is that there is a very short straight. It will become very tactical from a long way out (15k even) although when is the TDF not tactical. With such a late bend in the race I can see there being a problem on the run in. It could be all done to sprinter delivery and Deceuninck are masters of the art.
A win for Cav and the Wolfpack. Very telling that it was Wout who came closest to him. 2.4pt returned.
cav really is a complete professional, with a big personality to go , humble to boot , if he breaks eddy merckx record , a true sports personality of the year should be his .........
