Well at least we agree on that.

Might, being the operative word. It's a farce. No thanks.

My 5min ly reminder that I’m not saying testing for events is necessarily a good thing!

Infected liars might at least decide to snog less other people though…

The results aren’t worthless, so that can’t be your reason.
1/3 times minimum if you have it they’ll tell you so
That’s definitely worth something for others you might infect.

Vaccinations postponed due to anti-lockdown protest

Vaccinations at a site in Brighton have been postponed following anti-lockdown demonstrations in the city.

Protestors surrounded a vaccination bus on the seafront on Saturday, pictures on social media suggest.

NHS Brighton and Hove CCG announced that vaccinations on Hove Lawns were postponed on Sunday "to ensure that everyone is able to receive their vaccine safely and without any pressure put upon them".

The healthcare provider said its staff "experienced disruption during the anti-lockdown measures protest in the city".

I dont think they are as good as that, you also have false positives to take into account. Anyway, get a (much) better test and I'll join in.

No point in continuing is there.
Getting a better tests isn’t something I’m able to do, and the chance of a false positive is minuscule, but if the less than 1/100 chance of one is why you don’t want to take the test then that’s your reason I suppose.
I’ll leave it there and hope we’re both healthy and both cheering an England win later on :emoticon-0150-hands

I thought someone with symptoms had to self isolate immediately? Postal test if not able to get there themselves?

Self isolate immediately apart from going for a test (PCR are designed for people with symptoms)
It was a child in my bubble and they’re a notoriously unreliable driver (as most 4 years olds are I suppose)
You can drive someone there in those conditions and we isolated until test came back in any case

The biggest problem I see is that with self testing many will fail to stuff the stick far enough up the nose or down the throat.

If people don't do it 'properly' comes back as incomplete / do again. A friend who works in the NHS said they'd been told you can just do the nose as long as you do it for (?) 20 seconds a nostril, you don't even have to shove it that far up, just ensure the swab is covered properly

All restriction to end in England next week, government confirms.

“On the basis of the evidence in front of us we do not believe infection rates will put unsustainable pressure on the NHS.”
