Him and Branson can **** off, pair of bellends. Private contracts for the NHS and they way the American prick treats the Amazon staff (particularly during covid) was a disgrace. I hope they **** off to Mars next and don't come back, they can take BoJo with them anarl; he can pilot the cock shaped rocket.

With wealth comes responsibly, and none of that has been shown this past week or so by two very wealthy men.

There was a time when only the very rich could fly internationally, now you can fly to Southern Spain for the cost of a pair of cheap trainers ...

... at least you can get a pint when you get to Malaga <laugh>

When true explorers climbed Everest, or discovered new countries, they had to put some work in ...

... this is like being taken to the Pole on a hovercraft with waitress service.

Apparently if someone came along and found a magic pill which cured all the World's diseases - in gratitude the World could agree to pay him a million per month for the rest of his life. Because rich people mostly live longer that could be a long time. But that man would have to live to be 4,000 years old in order to be as rich as Bezos ! So much for the idea that anyone can possess such sums all through their own initiative and work - the man is a crook ! The billionaires of this planet (the wealthiest 20) own about 43% of the World's wealth. It's time we woke up to that fact - it is blood sucking vultures like him that are bleeding this World dry.

mate, preaching to the initiated here, been bleating on for years but people just do not want to listen, because they are sh1t scared of losing one of those holidays a year or not being able to get a newer/better car than 'him next door', they are scared they may have to work harder or they might just have to wait longer between upgrades...and woe betide they cannot get on the biggest rip off ride of the modern age, the property ladder.

we are the 99%, unfortunately only about 5% listen.

There's more mineral wealth in the solar system than we can harvest in several lifetimes. We also need to fully harness the power of that giant nuclear furnace we have access to. As selfish and wasteful as this looks, these trips are also a step towards that, which will solve a lot of our problems on Earth and hopefully Mars.

I want humanity to get to Star Trek, although we will probably have to go through The Expanse to get there....

    That's a lovely optimistic thought.

But I see it as oh well. We've raped the earth. Let's rape the next closest thing.

To get to post-scarcity we have to open up the technologies that enable it. Any advanced civilisation will use the resources available to them.

No they are not. It is just taking very rich people to the edge of space and nothing to do with technological advances.
