Hopefully none. But if he is lurking on not606, do chip in. Just an effort to be bit kinder, and acknowledge that despite these people being like actors in a big drama for us, they have the same struggles as us. Must be pretty tough being 30 and potentially seeing your lifelong dream coming to an end.
I don’t get that. Would he do better than Perez? I doubt it. There is a fundamental problem at RBR with their second drivers and they need to examine themselves to find out why.
Just read it on the Web. Apparently he said it on Sky , but I cannot see him going there . I hope he doesn't for his sake !
Think Alpha Tauri have confirmed an unchanged lineup for next year, although I guess for Red Bull they're central contracts anyway so that doesn't mean much. Somewhat surprised Tsunoda has a second season confirmed already. But perhaps Red Bull have learned putting drivers in a pressure cooker and demanding instantaneous results isn't the best way to develop a driver. Or maybe they just don't have any new cannon fodder ready.
Not exactly a 2022 rumour, but Dan Ticktum has been dropped from a second academy, he's no longer associated with Williams. In unrelated news, he was trashing Latifi last week on Twitch, calling him poo and that he paid to get into F1...
Youth for you. But the social media options provide a platform for a youthful suicide, something that wasn't an option 10 years ago, although he claims they had agreed to separate before this outburst. Racing drivers are not natural conformers but they are normally smart.
I can see him replacing Alonso at Alpine when he moves to something better, Renault have always had a preference for French drivers.
A few reports coming out that Ferrari didn't introduce a completely new PU at the start of 2021!!! They did add some 2021 PU components (I guess some energy store, control electronics, MGUH, etc) but it appears that the IC is still the 2020 version. They seem to be saying the complete new PU should be at Monza - at a guess it's home crowd so give it everything they have? Not sure how this works as I can't remember how many IC's Ferrari have used. Just checked and Charles is on 2nd IC and most other components whereas Carlos is on 3rd on most things!!! So looks like Carlos will be either not getting new units or be taking penalties. Then again they have 2 races to work out when best to take penalties. Both very different circuits - Spa and Netherlands! Looking forward to seeing if they can gain some pace but McLaren won't be best pleased if they do.... Please Riccy get to grips with the McL, it would be great to see both McL's towards front again.
That is interesting- monitoring both Ferrari and Renault PU development as it will be key when the engine freeze comes in for the new regs- they will want parity as a minimum. Seems 99% certain that Renault will debut a split turbo design next season - let’s see if it delivers the same sort of performance as Mercedes.
