Bristol City Key Bristol City figure delivers worrying transfer update as problem position is discussed https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/k...sfer-update-as-problem-position-is-discussed/
Good work by Pearson saying we need to sell to buy and that he's happy with his existing forwards for the start of the season Never let other clubs know you really need something
My worry is we’ve not really strengthened the squad and when you consider how poor we were towards the end of last Season that could be worrying, I hope Nige can reset the attitude and fitness and that will be enough. If we then have to sell our assets in order to add someone to score goals it’s likely to make us weaker elsewhere, realistically we’ve only got Kalas , and maybe Nage that would realistically bring in enough, Nage wouldn’t be too much of a problem as we’ve other options, but to get rid of Kalas in my view could be disastrous.
Obviously if a prem team wants him that’s different . If he goes unless we bring in a quality replacement I fear for us I really do.
I hope Nigel has an ace up his sleeve that will shake us to the core. We will only know our true course by early October when the moths have been shaken out and hope they haven't eaten through our wooly undies to give us a long bleak winter.
I just looked at the team who played versus Luton on 25th April, last but one home game. Bentley Sessegnon, Rowe, Kalas, Vyner Bakinson, Nagy, Massango, Lansbury Wells, Conway Only 3 of those players have left the club. To add as new signings or long term injured returning, we have; Defence, Atkinson, Dasilva, Baker Midfield, James, King, Williams, O’Dowda Attack, Wieman, Martin Add in those not picked on that day, Simpson, Palmer, Semenyo etc. and you do not have a bad squad. Add Simpson to the new signing or long term injured and you have an Ok looking team without any of the players who were playing against Luton. To add to the above “2 teams” we have a crop of young kids. I think we all feel slightly light up front. But I also see need to add quality not quantity. Did having 8 more players last year all of the same quality help us (released and not on above lists)? The most important thing is to keep our players fit. I believe the most important signing of the closed season could be Mr Rennie. I for one have been quietly satisfied so far with this window, lets see who else arrives and who leaves, but as it stands I look forward to the season. Do I think we will walk the league – No. Do I think we will be competitive – Yes. Am I looking forward to the season Always
Bentley RB Uncertain, Kalas (if he stays), Baker (if he stays fit), LB Uncertain. Bakinson, Williams (if he's fit), James and King (if fit). Weiman or Wells and Martin. Not my idea of competitive. Vyner, Palmer, Massengo, O'Dowda, DaSilva - I know, but an improvement on the above ? To me, they're ordinary. Only player I see probable improvement is Semenyo and possibly the new lad from Oxford. Ah well, that's my six eggs.
