The Athletic: Danny Ings signs new long-term contract, but not for Southampton.

As a positive, I don’t see any way we sell JWP to them as well.

 

I feel for all those who bought a new shirt with 'Ings' on the back. They are the real victims in this.

 

While true, the goals Ings scored coincided with the period where we looked like world-beaters, while the period where he was struggling with injury/post-COVID saw us post the worst results in the league. That's...not really a knock against Ings' effectiveness.

 

Nope. Just a straight commentary of the number of goals he got last year and so what we actually need to replace

 

True, just looked in the good spell he got 8 goals and the bad spell he got 4.

Don't think an extra 4 goals would have made a lot of difference to be fair though

I'm just pleased that my Ali Express one that arrives on Friday (£11.84 delivered in 7 days) doesn't have a name on it or I would have felt really ripped off at that price

I thought that at £11.84 it is worth a punt, even if I use it as a duster. It looks identical to the 'real' one so we'll see.

 

As Ralph said No one wants to be Club Legend anymore. Gone are the days of Le God and Super Kelv. Sad really but that's the way it is now.
