SUESA is the one for me today - was so impressive at Goodwood.

the Wesley Ward horse could be anything, and Dragon Symbol I am sure will be competitive again. At the prices though CHIPOTLE ridden by Hollie Doyle is a good each way bet.

Also great to see Stradivarius back on a racecourse. I imagine there could be a huge crowd at York today.

Frankie double today, STRADIVARIUS and GOLDEN PAL currently around 9/1 mark.

Stradivarius to gain revenge and Golden Pal from the front. Think this track will suit GP who will ping out and make all.

    York 1.50 Dark Jedi

With the Tim Easterby yard having a good York meeting this year (2 wins in valuable handicaps) Dark Jedi looks to have a nice each way chance. Was 2nd in this race last year of 6 lb lower but not written off in my opinion. Was 3rd of this mark last time out.

Good pick at 11/1 third. Dark Jedi always runs his heart out and is one of the most consistent horses in training. Duran Fentiman gets on very well with him. The Tim Easterby yard is in cracking form at the moment. <ok>

Short on time today, I am playing two of my previous selections as I felt they were good enough prices today.

I missed Lusail last time but my Coventry fancy went out and won from Asymmetric, who has won since. I didn't really fancy Fearsby's form lines and see Berkshire Shadow as the danger.

Suesa owes me nothing and was a winner for me at 12/1 last time. Golden Pal is in the could be anything category but although Suesa is seen as a soft ground horse, she sank on heavy in the Commonwealth Cup and it is just possible she was winning on soft in France by class alone, rather than the ground conditions and she can pick up in her races for sure.

    3.00 York Lusail 7/2
    3.35 York Suesa 7/2

    Two singles and a double

In the 6.45 Killbeggan I'll take a small each way chance on Humps and Bumps. This horse is a course winner and Killbeggan course reads 6234591 which doesn't look to bad for each way purposes in a low grade handicap like this. Talented conditional who takes off valuable 7 lb has ridden 3 winners last 14 days. Trainer had a 2nd recently. Humps and Bumps was a beaten fav last time out at Tramore when pulled up so could bounce back tonight.

Suesa was beaten after a furlong. She simply had far too much ground to make up and York on good ground is not the place to do it. Maybe she needs it softer over 5F but Dragon Symbol turned the form around by almost four lengths from their previous meeting and on that form Suesa would have won today.

Fair play to Winter Power, she has early speed and made the most of it today outlasting the USA raider. 9/1 was a big price for a filly who clearly burnt too hard too soon last time.

Golden Pal was a damp squib who would be better off over 4F. He could be right at home for the Breeders Cup but if he can't last 5F at York surely his European options are limited. The Abbaye might suit but he's unlikely to get his ground and Suesa will surely be favourite for that one if it is soft, rather than bottomless.

Lusail won nicely earlier, conceding 3 lbs. You would think the Middle Park will be his target and god knows what happened that night I backed him at Pontefract and he ran like a drain. It was soft that night but Richard Hannon said he was mystified by that effort. Berkshire Shadow was disappointing and looked one paced today. I would think it's time for him to step up in trip now. Fearsby may do better when the ground is on the softer side again.

Stradivarius showed his grit yet again today. He has won so many close ones over the years and surely it is time to retire him now and let him go out on a win. The tiny field indicates how lacking this division is in depth.

Oh well, half a loaf isn't bad after the week I have been having but the double would have been nicer.

Royal Fleet is unbeaten and wears a hood now in his attempt to follow up from a 7 lbs higher mark. Odds on for his latest race, this is tougher.I just wonder if he can give 5 lbs to Wishaah. The gelding is also upwardly mobile and he could have more to come. I feel his form is more solid looking and two winners have come from his latest win. Owen Burrows is 2/6 at the moment and Wishaah should go close today.

    5.10 York Wishaah 7/2

I thought Wishaah travelled into the race like he was going to win it but he seemed to weaken quite markedly.

I must say I don't rate Jim Crowley as a jockey with any strength at all in a finish. Watching Ryan Moore driving his mount along and then comparing it to Jim Crowley you get the feeling that Jim couldn't pull the skin off a Wee Willie Winkie sausage.

Rifleman looks like the Gelding operation has done the trick for him. He seemed temperamental at times but nothing wrong with his resolution today.

Devilwala was once rated 113 but looks a lost soul now. Only 10th and well thumped off 102 today, his mark looks set to drop to double digits now.

So, a well-done to all of you on Dark Jedi, not much of him but he'll always give you a run for your money! <ok> :bandit:

A bit harsh that comment, young Buick is no slouch, I feel result could have gone either way. Matter of opinion (that's if I'm allowed one :emoticon-0100-smile) I guess. Both riders and their mounts were terrific and gave their all, a great race.
